1. Wide Band Stop Response Using Interdigital Capacitor/CSRR DGS in Elliptical Microstrip Low-Pass Filter
Abstract In this paper, a compact elliptic-response microstrip low pass filter (LPF) is presented with a wide stop-band using stepped impedance resonators. With high attenuation in the stop-band, the overall size reduction of the proposed filter is achieved using a novel defected ground structure technique using an interdigital capacitor and complementary sp

2. A Novel Design of an H-shaped Microstrip Diplexer
Abstract In this paper, a new microstrip diplexer using modified H-shaped resonators with a compact size and high isolation is presented. This circuit is designed for the ISM band at 2.4 GHz and GPS at 1.575 GHz. The proposed diplexer is formed by connecting two band-pass filters designed by using the modified H-shaped resonator and tapped microstrip Input/o

3. Experimental Evaluation of Low-Pass Shock Isolation Performance of Elastomers Using Frequency-Based Kolsky Bar Analyses
Abstract Elastomeric materials are used as shock isolation materials in a variety of environments to dampen vibrations and/or absorb energy from external impact for minimizing energy transfer between two objects or bodies. Some applications require the shock isolation materials to behave as a low-pass mechanical filter to mitigate the shock/impact at high fr

4. Compact Microstrip Low-pass Filter with Wide Stop-band Using P-Shaped Resonator
Abstract This paper, a compact low-pass filter (LPF) with an Elliptic function response using P-shaped resonators is presented. The LPF with simple structure results in the low insertion loss less than 0.1 dB and high return loss better than 20 dB, in the pass-band. The proposed filter with a −3 dB cutoff frequency of 2.61 GHz is fabricated and measured. T

5. Design of K-Band Substrate Integrated Waveguide Band-Pass Filter with High Rejection
Abstract This article presents the design of K-band Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) Band-pass filter with high rejection, by using the topology with iris and the SIW resonators. The simulated results of this filter have shown that the passband is from 17.3 GHz to 19.3 GHz, while the insertion loss is 1.35 dB within 10.9 % bandwidth around 18.3 GHz and i

6. Trypan blue exclusion assay by flow cytometry
Dye exclusion tests are used to determine the number of live and dead cells. These assays are based on the principle that intact plasma membranes in live cells exclude specific dyes, whereas dead cells do not. Although widely used, the trypan blue (TB) exclusion assay has limitations. The dye can be incorporated by live cells after a short exposure time, and

7. Processamento de sinais de descargas parciais em tempo real com base em wavelets e seleção de coeficientes adaptativa espacialmente
On-line partial discharge (PD) analysis is a highly pursued feature due to the economy related to scheduled shutdowns, disassembling and transport. Nevertheless, on-site PD measurements are frequently limited by interferences found in high-voltage facilities, a situation that imposes the continued development of PD signal processing methods. In the last year

8. Estratégia para estimação do conjugado eletromagnético de motores de indução / STRATEGY FOR THE ESTIMATION OF TORQUE ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION MOTORS
The purpose of this work is to develop a strategy for determining the electromagnetic torque of induction motors (MIT) from the stator flux estimation, which presents higher robustness against parametric variations. The stator flux is estimated by integrating the voltage model of the machine, applying Highpass Filters (HFP) for ideal integration of electromo

9. Development of an optical fluorescence imaging system for medical use / Desenvolvimento de um sistema por imagem de fluorescência óptica para uso médico-odontológico
Optical fluorescence has been applied to several medical areas, as to monitor drug degradation and cancer detection, due to its high sensitivity, simplicity and fast response. Non-invasive and non-destructive assessment of tissues using this technique is very attractive for clinical diagnosis. Hence, the aim of was the development of an optical fluorescence

The aim of this work is to characterize the high intensity efforts performed by soccer players during official games. For these, nine games of the first division Brazilian championship game was recorded by four stationary digital video cameras, with acquisition frequency of 7.5 and 30 Hz, positioned in the highest points of the stadium. Players trajectories

11. Hydrophobicity classification in high voltage polymeric insulators / Classificação da hidrofobicidade em isoladores elétricos poliméricos de alta tensão
The aim of this study is to propose a new method to classify the hydrophobicity (HC) in high voltage polymer insulators. Currently the HC is based on the STRI guide (Swedish Transmission Research Institute) published in 1992, where the hydrophobicity is classified by contact angle and/or amount of wet surface. In the proposed method, the HC was analyzed by d
