3. Uma contribuição ao estudo e desenvolvimento de técnicas de controle de potências ativa e reativa do gerador de relutância varável para aplicação em sistemas de geração eólica de pequena potência / A constribution to the study and development of techniques for control of active and reactive power of the switched reluctance generator for application in wind power generation systems of small power

6. Gluon saturation and proton: anti-proton cross sections
We study proton - anti-proton cross sections in the framework of an updated minijet eikonal model. We propose a different scheme for fixing the parameters, in which we make use of the measured minijet cross section. We compare the results obtained with the GRV98, MRST98, CTEQ6-L and KLN gluon distributions. The latter includes gluon saturation effects. We co

7. Characterization of grvA, an Antivirulence Gene on the Gifsy-2 Phage in Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhimurium
The lambdoid phage Gifsy-2 contributes significantly to Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium virulence. The phage carries the periplasmic superoxide dismutase gene, sodCI, and other unidentified virulence factors. We have characterized the gene grvA, a single open reading frame inserted in the opposite orientation in the tail operon of the Gifsy-2 phage.

8. Expression and Self-Assembly of Grimsby Virus: Antigenic Distinction from Norwalk and Mexico Viruses
A cDNA obtained from Grimsby virus (GRV), a Norwalk-like virus, purified from a stool sample of a symptomatic adult associated with a gastroenteritis outbreak in the United Kingdom, was used to obtain the complete nucleotide sequence of the second open reading frame (ORF2). The ORF2 sequence of GRV predicts a capsid of 539 amino acids (aa) which exhibits aa

9. The gravitropism defective 2 Mutants of Arabidopsis Are Deficient in a Protein Implicated in Endocytosis in Caenorhabditis elegans1[w]
The gravitropism defective 2 (grv2) mutants of Arabidopsis show reduced shoot phototropism and gravitropism. Amyloplasts in the shoot endodermal cells of grv2 do not sediment to the same degree as in wild type. The GRV2 gene encodes a 277-kD polypeptide that is 42% similar to the Caenorhabditis elegans RME-8 protein, which is required for endocytosis. We hyp

10. A plant virus-encoded protein facilitates long-distance movement of heterologous viral RNA
Transport of plant viruses from cell to cell typically involves one or more viral proteins that supply specific cell-to-cell movement functions. Long-distance transport of viruses through the vascular system is a less well understood process with requirements different from those of cell-to-cell movement. Usually viral coat protein (CP) is required for

11. An Umbraviral Protein, Involved in Long-Distance RNA Movement, Binds Viral RNA and Forms Unique, Protective Ribonucleoprotein Complexes
Umbraviruses are different from most other viruses in that they do not encode a conventional capsid protein (CP); therefore, no recognizable virus particles are formed in infected plants. Their lack of a CP is compensated for by the ORF3 protein, which fulfils functions that are provided by the CPs of other viruses, such as protection and long-distance movem

12. Monoclonal antibodies to double-stranded RNA as probes of RNA structure in crude nucleic acid extracts.
We describe four monoclonal antibodies (MAB) which specifically recognize double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) together with their use in new methods for detecting and characterizing dsRNA in unfractionated nucleic acid extracts. The specificity of the antibodies was analyzed using a panel of 27 different synthetic and naturally occurring nucleic acids. All four anti
