2. Characterization of the Weed Flora in Rice Areas under Distinct Cropping Systems and Herbicide Managements

3. Spatial distribution of dairy heifers’ dung in silvopastoral systems

4. Milk production and ingestive behavior of cows grazing on Marandu and Mulato II pastures under rotational stocking
ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate milk production and ingestive behavior of Holstein cows and the structural characteristics of Mulato II, a hybrid Brachiaria grass CIAT 36087 (B. ruziziensis × B. decumbens × B. brizantha), and Marandu (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu) pastures under rotational stocking. The experiment was conducted fro

5. Thermal comfort and grazing behavior of Girolando heifers in integrated crop-livestock (ICL) and crop-livestock-forest (ICLF) systems
ABSTRACT. To compare the integrated crop-livestock-forest (ICLF) and crop-livestock (ICL) systems in relation to thermal comfort and grazing behavior of Girolando heifers, a 2 × 2 crossover trial (two system and two periods) was carried out with eight – Holstein × ¼ Gyr heifers in Xaraés-palisade grass pasture under intermittent stocking with 10 days o

6. Productivity and crude protein concentration of Tifton 85 pasture-based mixed with pinto peanut
O objetivo deste trabalh

7. Productivity and nutritive value of elephant grass pastures under organic and conventional production systems
Abstract: Elephant grass (EG) (Pennisetum purpureum Schum.) have great importance in tropical and subtropical climates, especially on dairy farms. Normally, EG is established alone under high fertilization levels. EG in organic production system can improve low production costs and environmental issues, are still little known. The aim of this research was to

8. Response of elephant grass to grazing under an organic production system

9. Attractants for automated emission measurement (Greenfeed®) in pasture-based systems
ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the frequency and intensity of GreenFeed (GF) use by Nellore steers using different attractants in pastures of integrated systems. The attractant protein supplement and Tifton bermudagrass pelleted hay flavored with vanilla were evaluated over a period of 15 days. The pelleted hay stimulated the animals to stay longer in

10. Integrating the pastoral component in agricultural systems
ABSTRACT This paper aims to discuss the impact of the introduction of pastures and grazing animals in agricultural systems. For the purposes of this manuscript, we focus on within-farm integrated crop-livestock systems (ICLS), typical of Southern Brazil. These ICLS are designed to create and enhance the synergisms and emergent properties have arisen from agr

11. Dry matter intake, performance and carcass characteristics of hair sheep reared under different grazing systems
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of three different grazing systems: isolated, alternate and simultaneous, on feed intake, performance and carcass characteristics of sheep. About 5.2 ha area of Tanzania grass (Panicum maximun Jacq cultivate Tanzania) was divided into 13 paddocks. This area was used as a stocking rate of two animal un

12. Welfare of cattle kept in intensive silvopastoral systems: A case report
ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of three different intensive silvopastoral systems (ISPS) on cattle animal welfare (AW) in Colombia. The three ISPS differed in area, plant composition, and grazing periods as follows: ISPS1 - low plant diversity in paddocks of 1200 m2, with grazing period of 24 h; ISPS2 - middle plant divers
