1. The use of a liner under different bulk-fill resin composites: 3D GAP formation analysis by x-ray microcomputed tomography
Abstract Gap formation of composite resin restorations is a serious shortcoming in clinical practice. Polymerization shrinkage stress exceeds the tooth-restoration bond strength, and it causes bacterial infiltration within gaps between cavity walls and the restorative material. Thus, an intermediate liner application with a low elastic modulus has been advis

3. Mechanical behavior of non veneered three unit fixed partial dentures of alumina-zirconia Under cyclic load in wet environment
The aim of this study was to evaluate the fatigue behavior in wet environment of a ZTA three unit FPDs processed via CAD-CAM. Thirty four three unit FPDs (In-Ceram®Zirconia BZ blanks) were grinded through a CEREC In-Lab equipment followed by glass infiltration and sandblasting. Those frameworks were then submitted to different number of load cycles (400 N,

4. Thermal and microestructural characterization of epoxy-infiltrated hydroxyapatite composite
In this work, hydroxyapatite (HAp) obtained from the deorganification of bovine bones using hot NaOH solution was used to synthesize a HAp/epoxy infiltrated composite. Infiltration was carried out by vacuum assisted immersion in hot epoxy resin. The resulting composite was characterized regarding polymer content, morphological aspects and flexural strength.

5. Análise qualiquantitativa da permeabilidade dentinária do terço apical de diferentes grupos dentais / Qualiquantitative analysis of apical dentin permeability in different dental groups
This ex vivo study evaluated histochemically the dentin permeability of the root canal walls in the apical third of different human dental groups, analyzing the pattern of dentinal tubule distribution and the presence of sclerotic dentin in this region. Eighty teeth were used, being 8 of each dental group - maxillary and mandibular central incisors, lateral

6. Influência da dentina sadia e afetada por cárie na resistência de união de sistemas adesivos e cimentos de ionômero de vidro em dentes decíduos - estudo in vitro / Influence of sound or caries-affected dentin on the bond strength of adhesive systems and glass ionomer cements in primary teeth an in vitro study
The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of sound and caries-affected dentin of primary teeth restored with different materials, regarding bond strength and nanoleakage. Seventy two primary second molars received standardized occlusal preparations were randomly assigned in two groups. One group was nominated as sound dentin [SD] (n=36), and the ot

7. Caracterização de sistemas cerâmicos aluminizados infiltrados por vidro, por meio de microscopia eletrônica de varredura e resistência à flexão / Characterization of glass-infused alumina-based ceramic systems by means of scanning electron microscopy and flexural strength
Objective: The purpose of this study was to characterize and compare glass-infused alumina-based ceramic systems by using X-Ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and flexural strength with a three-point bending test. The ceramic systems used were: (IC)- In-Ceram Alumina (VITA), (VC)- Vitro-Ceram (Angelus) and (AG)- Alglass (Celmat). The c

8. Using lithium glass infiltration to enhance the properties of alumina bodies
The use of an infiltration process to improve the properties of sintered materials has been widely investigated. This work describes the research carried out in the manufacturing of lithium glass-infiltrated alumina. The infiltration material consisted of a mixture of elements such as Li2O, ZrO2, SiO2 Al2O3, CaO and La2O3. Alumina specimens were sintered in

9. Influence of handling and heating cycle on the morphology and flexural strength of glass-infiltrated alumina bars
The main goal of the present study was to evaluate the influence of plaster stability, handling and thermal cycling on the morphology and mechanical strength of glass infiltrated alumina bars. Two different slip casting/thermal processing routes were investigated. The highest flexural strength of alumina bars from In-Ceram® Alumina protocol in comparison to

10. Influence of the type of framework system in the adaptation and microleakage of all-ceramic crowns / Influência do tipo de sistema de infra-estrutura na adaptação e microinfiltração de coroas totais cerâmicas
The objectives of this study were to quantify the microleakage and the loss of marginal adaptation before and after cementation of all-ceramic crowns, with four types of infrastructure systems, and to compare these parameters. After approval by the Committee on Ethics in Research of Dental School of University of São Paulo, 40 human third molars received al

11. Characterization of ceramic powders used in the inCeram systems to fixed dental Prosthesis
InCeram (Vita Zahnfabrik- Germany) is known as a high strength ceramic being used for core crowns and for fixed partial denture frameworks. InCeram system consists of slip-casting technique which is used for to build the framework, which is then pre-sintered obtaining an open-pore microstructure. The material gains its strength by infiltration of the lanthan
