13. Differential expression of immunologic proteins in gingiva after socket preservation in mini pigs
During healing following tooth extraction, inflammation and the immune response within the extraction socket are related to bone resorption. Objective : We sought to identify how the alloplastic material used for socket preservation affects the immune responses and osteoclastic activity within extraction sockets. Material and Methods : Using a porcine model,

14. Osteopontin expression in reactive lesions of gingiva
Reactive proliferations of the gingiva comprise lesions such as pyogenic granuloma (PG), inflammatory fibroepithelial hyperplasia (IFH), peripheral ossifying fibroma (POF), and peripheral giant cell lesion. Osteopontin (OPN) has a dual role, it promotes mineralization when it is bound to solid substrate, and on the other hand, it inhibits mineralization when

15. Syndrome in question
Vulvovaginal-gingival syndrome is characterized by erosions and desquamation of the vulva, vagina, and gingiva. We reported a case of a 32-year-old woman presenting with an 8-year history of damage to the vulval and perianal anatomy and limitation of mouth opening. The patient's symptoms were relieved after treatment with topical tacrolimus cream.

18. Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology and Intralesional Steroid Injection in a Central Giant Cell Granuloma Affecting the Gingiva: A New Clinical Approach

20. Effect of a cordless retraction paste on titanium surface: a topographic, chemical and biocompatibility evaluation
Good exposure of the preparation margins and haemostasis in the sulcular gingiva are necessary for accurate impressions to produce precise restorations. The use of cordless retraction paste material in implant dentistry is a relatively novel application. However, few studies have been conducted on the use of retraction pastes and their possible interaction w

21. Stromal myofibroblasts in focal reactive overgrowths of the gingiva
Focal reactive overgrowths are among the most common oral mucosal lesions. The gingiva is a significant site affected by these lesions, when triggered by chronic inflammation in response to microorganisms in dental plaque. Myofibroblasts are differentiated fibroblasts that actively participate in diseases characterized by tissue fibrosis. The objective of th

The orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) is an inflammatory process, that combines pathologic and physiologic answers to forces applied to teeth. One of the main mediators responsible by OTM is prostaglandin, which is also related to pain events. Paracetamol (PAR) and Sodium Dypirone (DYP) are analgesic drugs that do not interfere significantly in peripheral infl
