13. Petrography, geochemistry and geochronology of the potassic granitoids of the Rio Itacambiruçu Supersuite: implications for the Meso- to Neoarchean evolution of the Itacambira-Monte Azul block
ABSTRACT: In the Itacambira-Monte Azul block (BIMA) the Archean rocks are represented by tonalite-trondhjemite-granodiorite (TTGs) of the Porteirinha Complex and by potassic granitoids of the Rio Itacambiruçu Suite that crop out at the Pedra do Urubu (PUp), Rio Gorutuba (RGp), Barrocão (BAp) and Lagoa Nova (LNp) plutons. This work presents new data for the

14. GEOCHEMISTRY OF SUSPENDED PARTICULATE MATTER IN A TROPICAL ESTUARINE SYSTEM, SOUTHEASTERN BRAZIL
The aim of this study is to assess the variation of the geochemistry of suspended particulate matter (SPM) in the tropical estuarine system composed of the adjacent Piraquê-Açu and Piraquê-Mirim (ES) rivers using SPM sampled with sediment traps (45 µm mesh) installed in the drainage channels. We collected SPM during different tidal stages and seasonal pe

15. Holocene history of a lake filling and vegetation dynamics of the Serra Sul dos Carajás, southeast Amazonia
ABSTRACT Down-core changes in sedimentary facies, elemental geochemistry, pollen, spore, δ13C, δ15N and radiocarbon records from a filled lake, named R4, of the Serra Sul dos Carajás were used to study the relationship between the paleomorphological and paleoecological processes and their significance for Holocene paleoclimatology of the southeast Amazoni

16. The Buritizal meteorite: classification of a new Brazilian chondrite
Abstract On August 14, 1967, the reporter Saulo Gomes, working at TV Tupi, went to a small city in the State of São Paulo called Buritizal to investigate reports of a meteorite fall and write a newspaper report. He actually recovered three fragments of the meteorite at a small farm. In 2014, he donated one of the fragments to the Museu Nacional of the Unive

17. Petrography and geochemistry of the Pedra Dourada Granulite, southeastern Minas Gerais, Brazil
Abstract The Pedra Dourada Granulite (PDG) occurs at the southeastern portion of the Araçuaí Belt, north of the town of Ponte Nova. It comprises bodies up to 45 km2 inserted into amphibolite-facies gneisses of the Mantiqueira Complex. Motivated by the discrepancy of metamorphic grade with surrounding rocks, this paper presents results of the petrographic a

18. The Cogollo Group and the oceanic anoxic events 1a and 1b, Maracaibo basin, Venezuela
ABSTRACTCarbonates of Cogollo Group (Apón, Lisure and Maraca formations) constitute the broader calcareous platform system originated during Aptian and Albian of Cretaceous in north-western South America, Maracaibo Basin, Venezuela. On the shallow shelf, a variety of calcareous sedimentary facies were deposited during marine transgressive and regressive cyc

19. Geochemistry of acid mine drainage from a coal mining area and processes controlling metal attenuation in stream waters, southern Brazil

20. Geology, petrography and geochemistry of the A-type granites from the Morro Redondo Complex (PR-SC), southern Brazil, Graciosa Province

Reservoir geochemistry has been effectively used to evaluate compositional heterogeneity in petroleum reservoirs by employing oil fingerprinting technique to assess reservoir continuity, primarily in paraffin oil accumulations. In-reservoir biodegradation has resulted in vast deposits of heavy oils globally; therefore, the application of reservoir geochemist

22. Straightforward synthesis of 2,2,4,4,5,7,7-d7-cholestane: a new deuterated standard in petroleum analysis
A short and efficient synthesis of heptadeuterated 2,2,4,4,5,7,7-d7-cholestane (1) from cholesterol (3) is described. The deuterated material will be useful for the analysis of different sources of petroleum in analytical geochemistry laboratories as internal standard for quantification of steranes via gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
