25. Pollen sources used by Frieseomelitta Ihering 1912 (Hymenoptera: Apidae: Meliponini) bees along the course of the Rio Negro, Amazonas, Brazil
ABSTRACT Insect pollination has influenced the evolution and diversification of angiosperms. Consequently, knowing plants used as food sources by bees, the most important pollinator group, is the first step toward understanding how their ecological relationships works. Pollen source information is also highly relevant for bee management and associated fruit

26. Structural and biological properties of protein hydrolysates from seafood by-products: a review focused on fishery effluents
Abstract Enormous amounts of by-products and waste are generated during the processing of seafood, sometimes representing about 65% of the raw material employed. Seafood by-products (SB) include solid waste such as skin, head, viscera, trimmings, and bones; however, liquid wastes (effluents) derived from operations such as washing, thawing, cooking and the p

27. Maize yield in an integrated crop-livestock-forestry system in south Goiás, Brazil
ABSTRACT Cerrado biome is responsible for part of Brazilian food production. However, due to inadequate soil management practices, large areas of crop and forage are degraded, leading to environmental and economic losses. A crop-livestock-forest system (CLFS) is a sustainable production strategy that integrates different cultivations. This objective of this

28. Screening and characterisation of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) producing lactic acid bacteria isolated from Thai fermented fish (Plaa-som) in Nong Khai and its application in Thai fermented vegetables (Som-pak)
Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the capability of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolated from different kinds of fermented fish products (Plaa-som) on the production of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA). Among them, isolate L10-11, identified as Lactobacillus plantarum, offered the highest GABA production and was selected for further study. The highest producti

29. Double or triple-expressor lymphomas: prognostic impact of immunohistochemistry in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
Mid-Infrared absorption spectroscopy associate with the Partial Least Squares regression is the official method to monitor Brazilian commercial diesel quality. This method, however, uses solvents and a large number of samples for the construction of the calibration curves, which generates waste and increases the time needed for the analysis. In order to deve

31. BEHAVIOR OF BROILERS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF LED LIGHTING AND MICROMETEOROLOGICAL ELEMENTS
ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to analyze the differences between the food behaviors observed under the factors of production environment, sex and lighting system, using stochastic tools of multivariate analysis. As for the thermal characteristics of the environment, air temperature (T, °C), enthalpy (H, kJ kg-1), and black globe temperature an

32. Development of a dehydrated product with edible film characteristics from mammee apple (Mammea americana L.) using Refractance Window drying
Abstract The Mammee apple (Mammea americana L.) is a widely grown fruit, popular in tropical areas, which is mainly consumed fresh. Refractance Window (RW) drying is used to produce food films, flakes, and powders, and may be an alternative to commercially used dry food production methods. The aim of this study was to obtain a dehydrated product from the pul

33. Effect of spray drying on the fatty acids content and nutritional indices of buffalo powdered milk
Abstract The buffalo’s reproductive seasonality determines the decrease in milk and cheese production generating economic losses on the production system. Among various food process, we find the spray-dryer as an essential tool which helps food conservation. We achieved the milk powder in three replicates and each repetition processed 10 L of buffalo milk.

34. ENZYMATIC PRODUCTION OF β-CYCLODEXTRIN FROM JACKFRUIT SEEDS (Artocarpus intergrifolia L.)
Abstract β-Cyclodextrin (β-CD) is a compound of great application for pharmaceutical and food industries, and is generally produced by starchy substrates by cyclomaltodextrin glucanotransferase (CGTase) action. The objective of this study was to produce β-CD using an alternative source of starch, such as jackfruit seed (Artocarpus intergrifolia L.) bran (

35. MAXIMIZATION OF ESSENTIAL OIL ANTIOXIDANT CAPACITY VIA STAR ANISE HYDRODISTILLATION
Abstract Chinese star anise essential oil (EO) is prized for its pleasant aroma and mainly due to its antioxidant capacity (AC), which can combat cancer and treat neurodegenerative diseases. This study shows the innovative approach of optimizing not only EO yield, but also to therapeutic activity. The product obtained follows the principle of the Pure Food a
