25. Dinamica de Vortices Josephson em monocristais supercondutores de Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 e ferromagnetismo em compostos supercondutores de Nb-Pt
We have studied the dynamics of Josephson vortices ( JV) and Abrikosov pancake vortices (PV) in Bi2Sr2CaCu208 Bi(2212) superconducting single crysta1s and a1so the possibility of ferromagnetism in A -15 : Nb -Pt superconducting compounds. The anomalous depinning of Josephson interlayer vortices in Bi2Sr2CaCu208 high -Tc superconductors occurring at nearly fi

27. Anisotropias induzidas em ligas ferromagnéticas amorfas / Induced anisotropy in amorphous ferromagnetic alloys
In this thesis we will present a series of studies related to induced magnetic anisotropies (Kind) in amorphous alloys. In order to get a more general view of this theme, we used several different kinds of annealings. The theoretical analysis of the data of Kind and magnetic after-effect (MAE) was performed using a model based on two-level systems (TLS). Fro

28. Gate-controlled magnetic properties of the magnetic semiconductor (Zn,Co)O
Electric field-controlled ferromagnetism of (Zn,Co)O is demonstrated via anomalous Hall effect measurements. The electron carrier concentration in this material is 1.65×1020 cm−3 as measured via ordinary Hall effect at 4 K, and an anomalous Hall effect is observed up to 6 K, but with no hysteresis at any temperature. With positive electric gate field, the

30. FERROMAGNETISM AND SUPERCONDUCTIVITY IN URANIUM COMPOUNDS
The intimate correlation between the mechanisms causing magnetism and superconductivity in uranium compounds has been verified again—in novel systems.

31. High superconducting transition temperatures of new rare earth ternary borides
A new group of ternary borides has been found that show either ferromagnetism or superconductivity. Their general formula is MRh4B4 where M is a transition or rare-earth element. Their superconducting transition temperatures range from approximately 2.5 K for the Sm compound to approximately 12 K for the Lu compound.

32. The middle way
Mesoscopic organization in soft, hard, and biological matter is examined in the context of our present understanding of the principles responsible for emergent organized behavior (crystallinity, ferromagnetism, superconductivity, etc.) at long wavelengths in very large aggregations of particles. Particular attention is paid to the possibility that as-yet-und

33. Molecular field theory of reversible unfolding of biopolymers
A simple and general model of reversible conformational changes in biopolymers that lends itself to accounting for cooperativity without resort to a detailed description of the elementary steps is presented. It is suggested that the model permits the description of transitions in specific instances in which long-range effects are present and no simplifying f
