1. Reusable Heterogeneous SnO2/ZnO Catalyst for Biodiesel Production from Acidified/Acid Oils
A catalyst comprised of SnO2 impregnated on ZnO nanowires, which presented remarkable ability to catalyze fatty acid esterification/transesterification reactions, is reported. For optimization of reaction conditions, artificially acidified soybean oil with 10 wt.% oleic acid was used as a model feed. The optimized conditions were: 150 °C, 6 h, 5 g of oil, c

2. Influence of Fatty Acid Methyl Ester Composition, Acid Value, and Water Content on Metallic Copper Corrosion Caused by Biodiesel
Oxidative stability parameters (OSP), acid value (AV), water content (W), and the metallic copper corrosion rate in biodiesels obtained from eight different vegetable oils were determined. Simple and multiple linear regression models were constructed to explain the influence of the OSP, AV and W variables on the corrosion rate. The corrosion rate was lower i

3. PRODUCTION OF FATTY ACID METHYL ESTERS FROM AN OLIVE OIL INDUSTRY WASTE
ABSTRACT This work studies the synthesis of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) using crude olive pomace oil as raw material and zinc stearate as catalyst. Pomace oil is a non-edible by-product of olive oil production. The oil was characterized. In order to reduce the plant pigment content in the oil, the liquid was contacted with a modified clay. An experimenta

4. Ce/kaolin clay as an active catalyst for fatty acid methyl esters production from cottonseed oil in a new integrated apparatus
Abstract An efficient solid acid catalyst (Ce/Kaolin clay) was prepared and investigated for transesterification of cottonseed oil to fatty acid methyl esters (FAME). The catalysts were characterized by XRD, BET, and NH3-TPD measurements. A new integrated apparatus for extraction and transesterification of cottonseed oil was developed. The effects of cerium

5. Chromatographic analyses of fatty acid methyl esters by HPLC-UV and GC-FID

In this work, theoretical and experimental infrared spectra of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) contained in soybean biodiesel were analyzed seeking the assignments of the relevant vibrational modes to characterize crude soybean oil and soybean biodiesel. The results showed the usefulness of infrared spectra for monitoring saturated and unsaturated compounds

7. Caracterização de germoplasma de soja quanto aos teores de proteína, óleo e ácidos graxos / Characterization of soybean germplasm for protein, oil and fatty acids contents
Soybean is currently the most prominent crop in the Brazilian production of grains. Its main products include oil and meal, which have been used for the production of food and animal feed. The high protein contents represent the main attraction of soybean use in diet. Furthermore, soybean oil has also been used in the production of biodiesel. These industria

9. Cultivation of algae in photobioreator and obtention of biodiesel
In this work we described the cultivation of Chlorella vulgaris in a photobioreactor to algal biomass production. The dried biomass was used as feedstock for biodiesel production, it presented 26% lipids and via sonocatalysis stage of the methodology resulted in 60% of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME). The FAME content was confirmed by Gas Chromatography (GC)

10. Desenvolvimento e validação de metodo para determinação do perfil graxo do biodiesel de tungue e blendas com soja empregando GC-MS / Development and validation of method for the determination of fatty acids methyl esters contents in tung biodiesel and Blends with soybean using GC-MS

12. Comparative analysis of eight esterification methods in the quantitative determination of vegetable oil fatty acid methyl esters (FAME)
17); Bannon, 1982 (BAN, ref. 18); Joseph e Ackman, 1992 (JAC, ref
