1. Novel homozygous mutation in a colombian patient with persistent müllerian duct syndrome: expanded phenotype
ABSTRACT The anti-Müllerian hormone triggers the regression of uterus and fallopian tubes in male embryos; if there are problems in the synthesis or action of this protein, Müllerian structures persist in an otherwise phenotypic male. The most frequent clinical presentation of Persistent Mullerian Duct syndrome is cryptorchidism and inguinal hernia. The fe

2. Lithopedion Causing Intestinal Obstruction in a 71-Year-Old Woman: A Case Report

3. Mycoplasmateceae species are not found in Fallopian tubes of women with tubo-peritoneal infertility
BACKGROUND: The role of mycoplasmas on the development and sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease remains controversial. The objective of the present study is to correlate directly the presence of Mycoplasmateceae through polimerase chain reaction (PCR) determinations in cervix and Fallopian tubes of infertile patients with tubo-peritoneal factor diagnosed

5. Fallopian tube origin of supposed ovarian high-grade serous carcinomas
INTRODUCTION: Serous carcinomas are the most frequent histologic type of ovarian and peritoneal cancers, and can also be detected in the endometrium and fallopian tubes. Serous carcinomas are usually high-grade neoplasms when diagnosed, yet the identification of an associated precursor lesion remains challenging. Pathological examination of specimens obtaine

6. Clinical, genetic and molecular study of Rokitansky-Mayer-Küster-Hauser syndrome and related conditions / Estudo genético-clínico e molecular da síndrome de Rokitansky-Mayer-Küster-Hauser e condições afins
Background: Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome, comprising utero-vaginal atresia in otherwise phenotypically normal women with a normal karyotype (46,XX), has an incidence of about 1/5,000 among newborn girls. Anomalies of the genital tract range from upper vaginal atresia to total Müllerian agenesis (congenital absence of the Fallopian tubes,

7. True hermaphroditism presenting as an inguinal hernia
A 21-year-old patient with cryptorchidism was found to have a left inguinal mass on physical examination. The patient was operated with a diagnosis of bilateral cryptorchidism and left inguinal hernia. Besides bilateral inguinal undescended testicles, female genital organs like fallopian tubes, uterus and ovary were found on the exploration.

8. Chlamydia trachomatis infection of the Fallopian tubes. Histological findings in two patients.
In two patients with acute salpingitis, C. trachomatis was isolated from the cervix. In one of the patients, the organism was also recovered from the Fallopian tubes, and in the other, chlamydial inclusions were found in Giemsa-stained tubal epithelial cells. A significant change in micro-immunofluorescence antibodies to C. trachomatis occurred in both patie

9. Chlamydia trachomatis as a cause of acute perihepatitis associated with pelvic inflammatory disease.
Of four cases of acute salpingitis and perihepatitis confirmed by laparoscopy Chlamydia trachomatis was cultured from the cervix only in two and from both the cervix uteri and the Fallopian tubes in two; the latter finding has not been reported from cases with combined salpingitis and perihepatitis (Fitz-Hugh-Curtis syndrome). Since gonococci, other aerobic,

10. Human fallopian tubes in organ culture: preparation, maintenance, and quantitation of damage by pathogenic microorganisms.
An experimental organ culture model has been developed in which rates of damage to fallopian tube mucosa by agents of sexually transmitted diseases can be quantitated. This required assessment of the effect on organ cultures of such variables as the anatomic area of the fallopian tube employed, endocrinological status of the donor, and composition of media.

12. Comparison of Virulence Markers of Peritoneal and Fallopian Tube Isolates with Endocervical Neisseria gonorrhoeae Isolates from Women with Acute Salpingitis
Neisseria gonorrhoeae strains which cause acute salpingitis are presumed to ascend the genital tract from the cervix. Previous studies utilized isolates obtained from endocervical canal cultures, although it was not known if the isolates truly represented the organisms present in the fallopian tubes. In this study, we compared N. gonorrhoeae isolates from en
