1. Impact of fuel quantity on luminescence properties of Sr3Al2O6:Eu by combustion synthesis
Abstract The photoluminescent behavior of Eu-doped Sr3Al2O6 obtained by highly efficient solution combustion synthesis is reported. In order to understand the influence of the fuel on the synthesis, the stoichiometric quantity and an excess of fuel were evaluated. By adjusting the amount of fuel, different luminescence responses were obtained, allowing europ

2. New Europium(III)-TTA Complex Containing 2-Pyrrolidone as Coligand to Application as Luminescent Sensor: PbII and Ethanol in Gasoline
This work describes the synthesis and application of an europium(III) complex, [Eu(TTA)3(2-pyr) (H2O)], containing 2-thenoyltrifuoroacetonate (TTA) and 2-pyrrolidone (2-pyr) as ligands, obtained as white solid and soluble in ethanol. In solution, the complex showed red emission, characteristic of the EuIII emission in the solid state (λexc = 375 nm and λem

3. Synthesis, Characterization, and Application of Europium(III) Complexes as Luminescent Markers of Banknotes
In this work, three complexes were synthesized from the trivalent europium ion (EuIII), using the picrate anion (pic), and delta-valerolactam (DVL), epsilon-caprolactam (EPK), and oenantholactam (OEN). The synthesized complexes [Eu(pic)3·(DVL)3], [Eu(pic)3·(EPK)3], and [Eu(pic)3·(OEN)3] were studied as luminescent markers for application as security eleme

4. Separation of gadolinium and europium from chloride media by the solvent extraction technique
Abstract Obtaining rare earth elements (REE) is a complicated task, due mainly to the difficulty of separating and purifying them. Solvent extraction is the most widely used technique for separating REE, and the most common extractants used are organophosphorus acids. The low selectivity of this technique leads to the need for a high number of extraction cel

5. Study of obtaining thin films of CeO2 doped with 2 and 4 mol% of europium, terbium and thulium by spin coating: photocatalytic properties

6. Preparation and Luminescence Properties of Europium(III) Ternary Complex-modified Poplar Wood-based Materials
Inspired by the ultraviolet induced properties of biological materials, we developed fluorescent wood as a new type of functional material which can be applied to anti-counterfeit label technology and wood-emitting artwork. This study discusses the influence of temperature, time, ligand ratio, and reactant concentration on the structure and properties of flu

7. F-127-Assisted Sol-Gel Synthesis of Gd2O3:Eu3+ Powders and Films
In the current work, the influence of Pluronic F-127 (S = F-127) and temperature on the luminescent properties of Gd2O3:Eu3+ (Gd:S = 1:2) powders and films was studied. In order to synthesize the powders and films (by the dip-coating technique), Gd2O3: Eu3+ (5 mol%) ceramics were elaborated by the sol-gel route, using gadolinium and europium nitrates as prec

8. Characterization of CBD-CdS Doped with Some Rare Earths III (Eu3+,Ce3+) as Function of Synthesis Time
Rare earths (Europium, cerium)-doped CdS nanofilms are prepared using the growth technique chemical bath deposition (CBD) at the reservoir temperature of 70±2°C varying the synthesis time in a wide range. For the rare earths doped CdS nanofilms the synthesis time was ranged from 80 to 135 min. The rare earths molar concentration was in the range 0.0≤x≤

9. Luminescent and Magnetic Properties of Fe3O4@SiO2:phen:Eu3+
Magnetite was doped with rare earth ions (europium) to produce core-shell materials with both magnetic and luminescent properties, i.e., a magnetic Fe3O4 oxide core and a SiO2:phen:Eu3+ shell. The resulting material was analyzed by X-ray powder diffraction and transmission electron microscopy, and subjected to magnetic and luminescence emission measurements.

10. Eco-Friendly Luminescent Hybrid Materials Based on EuIII and LiI Co-Doped Chitosan
Biopolymer-based materials have been of particular interest as alternatives to synthetic polymers due to their low toxicity, biodegradability and biocompatibility. Among them, chitosan is one of the most studied ones and has recently been investigated for the application as solid state polymer electrolytes. Furthermore, it can serve as a host for luminescent
