1. Enantiomeric Ratio Changes of Terpenes in Essential Oils from Hybrid Eucalyptus grandis × E. tereticornis and its Pure Species
Some Eucalyptus species produce oils with biological activities and the effect of their interspecific hybridization on the enantiomeric composition of terpenes has not been reported. The enantiomeric excesses of monoterpenes in the essential oil of Eucalyptus grandis × E. tereticornis and its parental taxa were determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrom

2. Absolute configuration and enantiomeric composition of partially resolved mandelic, atrolactic and lactic acids by ¹H NMR of their (S)-2-methylbutyl esters

3. Composição e variabilidade enantiomérica de α-pineno em Constrictotermes cyphergaster (Silvestri, 1901) (Isoptera; Termitidae) / Composition and enantiomeric variability of α-pinene in Constrictotermes Cyphergaster (Silvestri, 1901) (Isoptera; Termitidae)
Termites are eusocial insects of isoptera order that part in seven families. In this study we analyze the chirality of α-pinene in the defensive secretion that C. cyphergaster (Isoptera, Termitidae, Nasutitermitinae) this compound showed that among the majority of termite volatile. Along with checking the chirality was made a study seeking to correlate

5. Chemical composition and antimicrobial activity of the essential oil from Aeolanthus suaveolens Mart. ex Spreng
The essential oils from leaves (sample A) and flowers (sample B) of Aeolanthus suaveolens Mart. ex Spreng were obtained by hydrodistillation and analyzed by GC, GC-MS, and chiral phase gas chromatography (CPGC). Six compounds have been identified from the essential oils, representing ca 94.3 and 93% of the oils corresponding to samples A and B, respectively.

6. Quantitative determination of the enantiomeric composition of panthotenic acid solutions: a mass spectrometry experiment

Estudo dos Constituintes Químicos de Óleos Voláteis de plantas Medicinais do Rio Grande do Sul: Isolamento, Determinação e Modificação Estrutural e Atividade Biológica / Study of Chemical Constituents of Volatile Oils from Medicinal Plants of Rio Grande do Sul: Isolation, Structural Determination, Structural Modification and Biological
The essential oils of eight species of medicinal plants wild and cultivated in Rio Grande do Sul, pertaining to four botany family Asteraceae, Verbenaceae, Lamiaceae and Rutaceae were investigated as for its chemical composition and antibacterial activity. The selected species for this study were Baccharis trimera and Baccharis articulata (Asteraceae), Matri

8. Estudo fitoquimico do epicarpo de Hymenaea courbaril var. altissima : sintese de derivados odoriferos do tipo ambar-gris e sesquiterpenos da classe drimano a partir do (-)-acido ozico
Hexanic extract of the epicarp of Hymenaea courbaril var. altissima furnished, after esterification with diazomethane, methyl esters of ozic, isoozic, kolavenic e zanzibadc acids. These diterpene acids belong to the ent-labdanic series and were also isolated, in addition, the sesquiterpenes a-copaene, caryophyllene oxide and spatulenol. We have observed that

9. Enantiomeric Composition of the trans-Dihydrodiols Produced from Phenanthrene by Fungi
The trans-dihydrodiols produced during the metabolism of phenanthrene by Cunninghamella elegans, Syncephalastrum racemosum, and Phanerochaete chrysosporium were purified by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The enantiomeric compositions and optical purities of the trans-dihydrodiols were determined to compare interspecific differences in the reg

10. Screening for microorganisms producing D-malate from maleate.
More than 300 microorganisms were screened for their ability to convert maleate into D-malate as a result of the action of maleate hydratase. Accumulation of fumarate during incubation of permeabilized cells with maleate was shown to be indicative of one of the two enzymes known to transform maleate. The ratio in which fumarate and malate accumulated could b

11. Stereospecific hydroxylation of indan by Escherichia coli containing the cloned toluene dioxygenase genes from Pseudomonas putida F1.
Escherichia coli JM109(pDTG601), containing the todC1C2BA genes encoding toluene dioxygenase from Pseudomonas putida F1, oxidizes indan to (-)-(1R)-indanol (83% R) and trans-1,3-indandiol. Under similar conditions, P. putida F39/D oxidizes indan to (-)-(1R)-indanol (96% R), 1-indanone, and trans-1,3-indandiol. The differences in the enantiomeric composition

12. Enzyme Specificity of 2-Nitrotoluene 2,3-Dioxygenase from Pseudomonas sp. Strain JS42 Is Determined by the C-Terminal Region of the α Subunit of the Oxygenase Component
Biotransformations with recombinant Escherichia coli expressing the genes encoding 2-nitrotoluene 2,3-dioxygenase (2NTDO) from Pseudomonas sp. strain JS42 demonstrated that 2NTDO catalyzes the dihydroxylation and/or monohydroxylation of a wide range of aromatic compounds. Extremely high nucleotide and deduced amino acid sequence identity exists between the c
