1. Mathematical Modeling of the Film Influence on the Salting Time of Mozzarella Cheese in a Static and Dynamic System: Application of Artificial Neural Networks of the Multilayer Perceptron Type
The NaCl and KCl diffusion in the film formed on the cheese surface during salting was simulated by the finite element method. The time and salts concentration values on the cheese surface were determined, tabulated, and presented to the multilayer perceptron neural network (MLP) for the regression modeling. The samples were divided into 70, 15 and 15% for t

2. THE INFLUENCE OF THE FILM FORMED ON THE PRATO CHEESE SURFACE DURING THE NACL AND KCL SALTING PROCESS: APPLICATION OF THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD AND NEURAL NETWORKS OF THE SELF-ORGANIZING MAP (SOM) AND MULTILAYER PERCEPTRON (MLP) TYPES
Sodium chloride is used in the cheese salting process as it promotes sensory changes and food preservation. However, in excess can cause hypertension problems, and for this reason, it has been partially replaced by potassium chloride. In the present work, Prato cheese was subjected to joint diffusion of NaCl and KCl by immersion in static and stirred brine.

3. The influence of dynamic capabilities on startup growth
Abstract Purpose The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between dynamic service innovation capabilities (DSICs) and startup growth in an emerging country. Design/methodology/approach This paper used a theoretical DSIC model to process data on 137 Brazilian startups, using a stepwise regression. Findings Service startup growth is related

4. Desigualdad y nutrición: Encuesta de la Situación Nutricional en Colombia, 2010
Abstract Objectives: to calculate inequality indices based on seven variables relating to monetary poverty in children aged between 5 and 17 years and postpartum women of interest to the public nutrition authorities in Colombia. Methods: an ecological study was carried out based on 2011 data for monetary poverty and ENSIN obtained in the 2010 survey used t

5. Identification and agreement of first turn point by mathematical analysis applied to heart rate, carbon dioxide output and electromyography
BACKGROUND: The second heart rate (HR) turn point has been extensively studied, however there are few studies determining the first HR turn point. Also, the use of mathematical and statistical models for determining changes in dynamic characteristics of physiological variables during an incremental cardiopulmonary test has been suggested. OBJECTIVES: To

6. Relação dinâmica entre a estrutura de propriedade e controle e o valor de mercado corporativo no Brasil: análise da primeira década do século XXI / Dynamic relationship between ownership and control structure and corporate market value in Brazil: Analysis of first decade of XXI century
The Brazilian model of corporate governance is characterized by the ownership and control concentration of most publicly traded companies. In this context, the academic literature points to the existence of a positive and a negative impacts of this shares accumulation by controller (s) on corporate performance, known respectively as incentive effect (or alig

7. FORECASTING OF JUDICIAL CONTINGENCY IN ELECTRIC SECTOR COMPANIES: AN APPROACH VIA DYNAMIC REGRESSION AND EXPONENTIAL SMOOTHING / PREVISÃO DE CONTINGÊNCIA JUDICIAL EM EMPRESAS DO SETOR ELÉTRICO: UMA ABORDAGEM VIA REGRESSÃO DINÂMICA E AMORTECIMENTO EXPONENCIAL
The aim of this dissertation is to develop short term models to forecast the number of judicial process in electric sector companies. From the methodology point of view, data is analyzed and models using bottom-up strategy is developed. In other words, a simple model is improved step by step until a proper model that fits well the reality is found. From a un

8. PROPRIEDADES FÍSICO-MECÂNICAS DE CHAPAS AGLOMERADAS PRODUZIDAS COM BAMBU, PINUS E EUCALIPTO. / PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF PARTICLEBOARD PRODUCED WITH BAMBOO, PINE AND EUCALYPT.
This study investigated the physical and mechanical properties of particleboards formed of bamboo (Bambusa tuldoides), pine (Pinus taeda) and eucalyptus (Eucalyptus grandis) and their combinations. To this end, panels were made, defined by the use of each type of particle pure or mixed by two or three being set 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% of dry weight proportion

9. Modelagem nebulosa evolutiva: novas topologias e algoritmos de aprendizagem
This works aims to introduce new evolving fuzzy topologies and learning algorithms. Evolving fuzzy systems are defined as new class of intelligent fuzzy systems, with a high flexibility and autonomy. These systems are able to address problems like nonlinear system identification, control and pattern classification in a dynamic changing environment, adapting

10. Especificação do tamanho da defasagem de um modelo dinâmico
Several techniques are proposed to determine the lag length of a dynamic regression model. However, none of them is completely satisfactory and a wrong choice could imply serious problems in the estimation of the parameters. This dissertation presents a review of the main criteria for models selection used in the classical methodology and presents a way for

11. Subjective and normative aspects of dental treatment need in brazilian elderly / Aspectos subjetivos e normativos sobre necessidade de tratamento odontologico em idosos brasileiros
The demographic transition in which Brazil has been rising in recent years is a consequence, among other indicators, of the mortality rate reducing, the fall in fertility rate and increased life expectancy, which produces the effect of a worldwide phenomenon known as "population aging". This dynamic demographic and epidemiological present at least two object

12. Reologia de Biodiesel de origens diversas e das misturas Diesel/Biodiesel
Cost and depletion of petroleum derived fuels are increasing, thus alternative fuels are quite required. Biodiesel (B100), which is comprised of fatty acid methyl (or ethyl) esters (FAMEs/FAEEs) derived from vegetable oils, animal fats or waste oils mainly through transesterification, is an alternative source of energy. It is renewable, available locally, bi
