1. Changes in carbohydrates accumulation in Viguiera discolor Baker in response to water deficit
Avaliamos a influência do déficit hídrico no

2. Association mapping of drought tolerance indices in wheat: QTL-rich regions on chromosome 4A
ABSTRACT Drought is likely the main abiotic stress that affects wheat yield. The identification of drought-tolerant genotypes represents an effective way of dealing with the continuous decrease in water resources as well as the increase in world population. The aim of this study was to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) associated with drought to

3. Time-space characterization of droughts in the São Francisco river catchment using the Standard Precipitation Index and continuous wavelet transform

O presen

5. Vanilla bahiana Hoehne (Orchidaceae): studies on fruit development and new perspectives into crop improvement for the Vanilla planifolia group
As principais ca

6. Development of an annual drought classification system based on drought severity indexes
Abstract: In order to characterize the occurrence and intensity of droughts in the Doce River Basin, as well as to develop a system for its classification, four different drought indexes were evaluated: Percent of Normal Precipitation (PNP), Deciles Method (DM), Rainfall Anomaly Index (RAI) and Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI). The indices were calcula

7. Application of indices for water resource systems stress assessment

8. Impacts of climate change on drought: changes to drier conditions at the beginning of the crop growing season in southern Brazil
ABSTRACT The intensification of drought incidence is one of the most important threats of the 21st century with significant effects on food security. Accordingly, there is a need to improve the understanding of the regional impacts of climate change on this hazard. This study assessed long-term trends in probability-based drought indices (Standardized Precip

9. MILK PRODUCTION AS AN INDICATOR OF DROUGHT VULNERABILITY OF CITIES LOCATED IN THE BRAZILIAN SEMIARID REGION
ABSTRACT Several spectral indices have been used to estimate droughts, however, these indicators only give evidence of a dry spell leaving out its impacts on significant economic activities performed in a given region. In this context, livestock breeding in one of the most important activities to analyze in the Brazilian semiarid region. The aim of this stud

10. IDENTIFICATION OF DESERTIFICATION- SENSITIVE AREAS IN THE BRAZILIAN NORTHEAST THROUGH VEGETATION INDICES
ABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to identify areas susceptible to drought and under desertification in the Brazilian Northeast, more specifically in the states of Alagoas, Pernambuco, and Sergipe. The study was based on the 2000-2014 time period, relative frequency, Vegetation Condition Index (VCI) dataset derived from MOD13Q1 products (vegetation indices

11. Drought monitoring in the Brazilian Semiarid region
ABSTRACT Drought is a natural and recurrent phenomenon. It is considered ‘a natural disaster’ whenever it occurs in an intensive manner in highly populated regions, resulting in significant damage (material and human) and loss (socioeconomic). This paper presents the efforts developed to monitor the impact of drought in the semiarid region of Northeast B

12. CULTIVARES DE CANA-DE-AÇÚCAR SUBMETIDO À RESTRIÇÃO HÍDRICA. / CULTIVARS OF SUGAR CANE SUBMITTED TO WATER RESTRICTION.
The increasing demand for biofuels has provided significant increases in the areas of sugar cane in Brazil and in recent decades, and long periods of drought have limited the production of this species. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of cultivars RB 85-5536 and RB 93-509 of cane sugar on water restriction during the first stages of development.
