1. Equivalence between the Dirac oscillator and a spin-1/2 fermion embedded in a transverse homogeneous magnetic field: movement in a (2 + 1)-dimensional world
Abstract It is shown that the Dirac oscillator in a (2+1)-dimensional spacetime can be interpreted as a spin-1/2 fermion embedded in a transverse homogeneous magnetic field.

2. Equivalence between the planar Dirac oscillator and a spin-1/2 fermion embedded in a transverse homogeneous magnetic field
Abstract It is shown that a spin-1/2 fermion coupled to the axially symmetric electromagnetic vector potential has the same matrix structure as that one for the planar Dirac oscillator. In particular, the planar Dirac oscillator can be interpreted as a charged particle minimally coupled to a transverse homogeneous magnetic field.

5. Comparing the Schrödinger and Dirac Descriptions of an Electron in a Uniform Magnetic Field
Abstract In this article we present a detailed description, using ladder operators, of an electron in a uniform magnetic field evolving under the Schrödinger equation. We go on to describe the same physical system in terms of relativistic quantum mechanics using the Dirac equation and to compare the two models in detail. The main differences between these t

6. A Differential Quadrature Procedure with Direct Projection of the Heaviside Function for Numerical Solution of Moving Load Problem
Abstract Owing to its particular characteristics, the direct discretization of the Dirac-delta function is not feasible when point discretization methods like the differential quadrature method (DQM) are applied. A way for overcoming this difficulty is to approximate (or regularize) the Dirac-delta function with simple mathematical functions. By regularizing

9. A função delta revisitada: De Heaviside a Dirac

10. Spurious Phosphorus Pyramidalization Induced by Some DFT Functionals
The molecular geometries of boraphosphabenzene (BP-benzene) and boron phosphorus coronene (BP-coronene) can be misinterpreted when they are obtained from density functional theory (DFT) calculations. In this study, we found that some exchange-correlation (XC) functionals yielded a distorted geometry of the above molecules when P atoms are present in their

11. A Differential Quadrature Procedure with Regularization of the Dirac-delta Function for Numerical Solution of Moving Load Problem
AbstractThe differential quadrature method (DQM) is one of the most elegant and efficient methods for the numerical solution of partial differential equations arising in engineering and applied sciences. It is simple to use and also straightforward to implement. However, the DQM is well-known to have some difficulty when applied to partial differential equat

12. Transverse Motions of Rectangular Plates Resting on Elastic Foundation and Under Concentrated Masses Moving at Varying Velocities
AbstractThis study concerns the dynamic characteristics of a prestressed isotropic, rectangular plate continuously supported by an elastic foundation and carrying accelerating mass M. Closed form solutions of the governing fourth order partial differential equations with variable and singular coefficients are presented. For the two-dimensional plate problem,
