13. Effect of soybean oil in the endosulfan persistence in the environment. / Efeito de óleo de soja na persistência de endosulfan no ambiente.
The pesticides make part of a technology that is associated to the agriculture modernization. With their generalized use many problems occur and are diagnosed, among others, the water and soil contamination. The persistence in the environment is related to their physical and chemical properties, as well to the environment that defined the transport, retentio

14. Degomagem of miscela of maize oil (Zea mays L.) for ultrafiltration. / Degomagem de miscela de oleo de milho (Zea mays, L.) por ultrafiltração.
Crude corn oil possess undesirable substances that affect the quality of the final product, among them are phospholipids, pigments, waxes and free fatty acids, Where some of them can be separate, at least partially, through ultrafiltration. Some works have been developed applying this technology in degumming of vegetable oils, and removal of phospholipids, w

15. Soybean oil processing using ultrafiltration in micelle in the degumming step / Processamento de oleo de soja utilizando ultrafiltração em miscela na etapa de degomagem e na obtenção de lecitina
Crude soybean oil is traditionally degummed by water addition or phosphoric acid. The membrane technology applied to vegetable oils processing has become important because it allows to use temperatures, reduces waste water treatment, retains undesirable products, besides preserving important minor compounds in the oil. The objectives of this work were to opt

16. Desacidificação de oleo de milho com etanol em coluna de discos rotativos (RDC)
Deacidification of com oil with ethanol by a continuous process was conduded in a perforated rotating-disc-contador (RDC). Since the phosphatides are insoluble in ethanol, different pre-treatments were performed such as degumming and bleahing to reduce the phosphorus content. Water degumming of crude com oil was more efficient than acid degumming with citric

17. Pectinolytic Enzymes from Actinomycetes for the Degumming of Ramie Bast Fibers
Actinomycetes isolated from 10 different soil and compost samples were screened for production of pectinolytic enzyme activities when grown on pectin-containing solid and liquid media. Pectinolytic enzymes, detected by using plate diffusion tests with a medium containing ramie (Boehmeria nivea) plant material as the sole carbon source, were mainly pectate ly

18. Byssinosis Prevalence and Flax Processing*
Previous evidence suggested that byssinosis in flax workers is caused by the inhalation of dust of biologically retted flax. In the present study no cases of byssinosis were found among workers in a flax plant which produces yarn by chemical degumming instead of biological retting. The absence of byssinosis in this plant could not be attributed to difference
