13. Theoretical modeling of low-attenuation lamb wave modes generation in three-layer adhesive joints using angle beam transducer
AbstractIn this paper, at first the attenuation of Lamb waves in three-layer adhesive joints, including two elastic plates bonded together by a viscoelastic adhesive layer, is investigated using Global matrix method and then suitable incidence angle is theoretically calculated to generate low-attenuation Lamb waves using angle beam transducer. Theoretical bo

14. Thermoelastic slowness surfaces in anisotropic media with thermal relaxation
Analysis for general closed form solution of the thermoelastic waves in anisotropic heat conducting materials is obtained by using the solution technique for the biquadratic equation in the framework of the generalized theory of thermoelasticity. Obtained results are general in nature and can be applied to the materials of higher symmetry classes such as tra

15. Cathodic cage plasma nitriding of austenitic stainless steel (AISI 316): influence of the working pressure on the nitrided layers properties
In this work, the influence of working pressure on the characteristics of the layers produced by the nitriding treatment on the AISI 316 austenitic stainless steel surface using the Cathodic Cage Plasma Nitriding technique (CCPN) is assessed. The treatments were carried out at a temperature of 723 K for 5 hours under working pressures of 120, 250 and 500 Pa.

16. Proliferation of human periodontal ligament mesenchymal cells on polished and plasma nitriding titanium surfaces
AIM: To evaluate the proliferative capacity of mesenchymal cells derived from human periodontal ligament on polished and plasma-treated titanium surfaces. METHODS: Eighteen titanium disks were polished and half of them (n=9) were submitted to plasma nitriding using the cathodic cage technique. Mesenchymal cells were isolated from periodontal ligament of impa

17. Geração de b-splines via FPGA / B-spline generation via FPGA
The b-splines are used in CAD/CAM/CAE systems to represent and define complex curves and surfaces, being adopted by the main computer graphics standards due to features like compact mathematic representation, flexibility and affine transformations. In 3D acquisition systems and integrated CAM-CNC systems, the use of the b-spline in the geometric information

18. HÉLICES, CURVAS DE BERTRAND E SUPERFÍCIES REGRADAS / HELICES, BERTRAND CURVES AND RULED SURFACES
O presente trabalho destina-se a um estudo sobre hélices e curvas de Bertrand. Uma hélice circular é caracterizada por ter curvatura k 6= 0 e torção t constantes. Se a razão t k for constante, a curva é chamada hélice generalizada. Uma curva g : I −→ R3 é chamada curva de Bertrand se existe uma outra curva g : I −→ R3 tal que

19. Determination of the numerical parameters of a continuous damage model for the structural analysis of clay brick masonry
Models based on the continuous damage theory present good responses in representing the nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete structures with loss of strength and stiffness of the material. However, damage theory is rarely employed in the analysis of masonry structures and numerical simulations are currently performed mostly by Finite Element Method form

20. Fases magnéticas de sistemas nanoestruturados de terras-raras
There is presently a worldwide interest in artificial magnetic systems which guide research activities in universities and companies. Thin films and multilayers have a central role, revealing new magnetic phases which often lead to breakthroughs and new technology standards, never thought otherwise. Surface and confinement effects cause large impact in the m

21. Propriedades de dinâmica hamiltoniana em níveis de energia convexos de R4 / Properties of the hamiltonian dynamics in convex energy levels of R4
The existence of global surfaces of section to ows is of central importance in the theory of dynamical systems, as a global surface of section simplies the study of the dynamics of a ow reducing it to the study of the dynamics of a dieomorphism. We present in detail the construction due to Hofer, Wysocki and Zehnder (in The dynamics on a strictly convex ener

22. Cálculo das retas numa superfície cúbica em P3
In this work we study cubic surfaces in P3. More specically, we take care to count the number of lines on these surfaces. In chapter one we proved that the number of lines on a non-singular cubic surface in P3 is 27. In chapter two, as the motivation for chapter three, we focused in the classifcation of singularities of plane curves. For the singular case, d

23. Resistência de um solo não saturado a partir de ensaios com teor de umidade constante (CW) / Shear strength of an unsaturated soil from constant water content tests
In many parts of the world, geotechnical engineers frequently deal with unsaturated soils, and the performance of constructions on such soils depends on their mechanical characteristics, and among them, the shear strength. The unsaturated soil shear strength can be experimentally determined by using techniques which allow soil suction control or measurement

24. Association between clinicopathological variables and the immunohistochemical expression of Ezrin and CD44 in patients with osteosarcoma / Estudo da associação das variáveis clínico-patológicas com a expressão imunoistoquímica de Ezrin e CD44 em pacientes portadores de osteossarcoma
Metastasis is the most important prognostic factor in patients with osteosarcoma. Identification of genes that are crucial for metastatic dissemination is of great interest, not only to gain a basic understanding of the molecular and cellular processes involved, but also to provide the potential for new therapeutic targets. In relation to osteosarcoma, it ha
