1. Agroindustry Residues as a Source for Cellulose Nanofibers Production
Our study was motivated by the large amount of crop residues produced in Brazil, which represent underutilized waste biomass and a serious threat to the environment because of the landfilling. For example, even though the corn crop is not popular in Brazil, it is produced in the area of around 18-20 million hectares with an average production of 5-6 t ha-1.

2. Tillage systems and cover plants change organic fractions of phosphorus in oxisol of eastern Amazonia
ABSTRACT Due to the large extent of degraded areas in the Amazon, the use of conservation systems is very important to contain the advance of the agricultural frontier, and may favor the availability of nutrients such as phosphorus (P). This study evaluated effect of tillage systems on and cover plants distribution of organic P fractions (Po) in oxisol under

3. Growth and yield parameters of white oat and wheat as affected by canola residues
ABSTRACT Despite being an important crop option for Brazilian agriculture, canola has some characteristics that may limit its insertion in some cropping systems, such as its allelopathic effects. Thus, the present work aimed to study the effect of canola crop residues on the seed germination, growth and grain yield of white oat and wheat plants. In laborator

4. Is Increasing Doses of Imazapyr + Imazapic Detrimental to the Main Crop Rotation Alternatives to Flooded Rice?

5. Association of Mechanical and Chemical Methods for Cotton Stalk Destruction

6. Summer Cover Crops Shoot Decomposition and Nitrogen Release in a No-Tilled Sandy Soil
ABSTRACT Cover crops have numerous benefits when used in a no-till system. Understanding the processes of decomposition and N release of summer cover crops (SCC) may help select species and management to be used in cropping systems. This study aimed to evaluate C and N loss of SCC shoots. Six SCCs were evaluated: velvet bean (Mucuna aterrima), pearl millet (

7. Use of 2,4-D in Mixture with Ethephon and Calcium Carbide in Pineapple Crop

8. Phosphorus acquisition by wheat from organic and inorganic sources labelled with 32P and 33P radioisotopes
ABSTRACT: Investment in soil phosphorus (P) capital in the tropics is often constrained by poor availability of mineral fertiliser to small-scale farmers. Consequently, new sustainable agricultural cropping strategies are required to maintain fertility and maximise crop yields. The co-application of Tithonia diversifolia (Tithonia) green manure and mineral f

9. Maize yields and carbon pools in response to poultry litter, rock phosphate and P-solubilizing microorganisms
ABSTRACT: The acid release of phosphates from rock phosphates (RP) and the retention of ammonium by inorganic phosphates have been studied separately in composting; however, there is a gap in the knowledge of combined application of RP with organic residues and microorganisms. The objectives were to evaluate the combined application of fresh poultry litter (

10. Crop residues activity against the free-living stages of small ruminant nematodes

11. Impact and management of diseases in the propagation of fruit plants

12. MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS: SOIL COVER AND COMPACTION, LONGITUDINAL DISTRIBUTION, AND YIELD OF SOYBEAN CROP
ABSTRACT The way the soil is managed can influence its structuring and, consequently, crop yield. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effect caused by the management systems plowing followed by two intermediate harrowing operations, intermediate harrowing, chiseling, chiseling followed by intermediate harrowing, cross chiseling followed by intermediate ha
