1. Synthesis of delafossite CuCrO2 via solution combustion method and its acid functionalization for biodiesel production
Abstract CuCrO2 was synthesized by solution combustion synthesis (SCS) and applied as a heterogeneous catalyst to produce soybean biodiesel. The combustion reaction was carried out using urea as a fuel, and copper (II) and chromium (III) nitrates as precursors. After the powders’ obtention, these were calcined and functionalized in an acidic medium. The po

2. Adsorption of Calcium(II), Cadmium(II) and Copper(II) Ions from Water by Prepared Silicon-Aluminum-Zirconium Oxide Using Sol-Gel Process
Ternary oxide silica-alumina-zirconia (SiO2/Al2O3/ZrO2) obtained by the sol-gel process was applied as novel adsorbent of ions in aqueous solution. Batch isotherms were performed using standard CuII, CdII and CaII solutions at variable pH and different concentrations. Adsorption capacity was best at weakly acidic pH. The maximum adsorption capacities were 2.

3. Effects of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon Pendant-Armed Ligands on the Catecholase Activity of Dinuclear Copper(II) Complexes
Herein, we present three new binuclear copper(II) complexes containing different polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, able to catalyze the oxidation of 3,5-di-tert-butylcathecol, a model substrate for catechol oxidase. The ligands and complexes were successful characterized in solid and solution states. The structure of C1 was determined by X-ray crystallograph

4. Study of the CuII Affinity by Three Chelating Agents of Biological Interest: TPEN, TRIEN and Et2DTC
Copper is an important micronutrient, and it is present in some protein structures, as well as participate in several important biological processes. Due to its importance, some ligands are used and studied like carriers of copper in the biological systems. This work has investigated the affinity of CuII by three ligands of biological interest: N, N, N, N’

5. Synergistic Supramolecular Effect on the Electro-Oxidation of Biological Relevant Molecules: A Novel Sensor for Simultaneous Determination of Epinephrine and Uric Acid in Human Urine Using MWCNT and a Copper(II) Complex
In this paper a novel supramolecular strategy to improve the efficiency of a voltammetric sensor to determine two biologically relevant molecules (epinephrine (EP) and uric acid (UA)) is presented. The strategy is based on the use of a glassy carbon electrode modified with a copper(II) complex ([Cu(H2dimpy)Cl]PF6) adsorbed on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (M

7. Electroanalytical Method for Determination of Trace Metals in Struvite Using Electrochemically Treated Screen-Printed Gold Electrodes
We present an electroanalytical method using square-wave anodic stripping voltammetry on electrochemically-treated screen-printed gold electrodes to the simultaneous determination of lead(II), copper(II) and mercury(II) in struvite (natural fertilizer produced from urine). Electrochemical treatment via cyclic voltammetry of the working electrodes increased s

8. SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF NEW Cu (II), Co (II) AND Sn (II) COMPLEXES WITH THE SODIUM HYDROTRIS(2-MERCAPTOTHIAZOLYL)BORATE LIGAND
The emergence of antibiotic resistance among microbial pathogens is a serious public health problem, resulting in a constant need of discovering new antibiotics. For this purpose, we synthetized and determined the antimicrobial activity of copper (Cu), cobalt (Co), and tin (Sn) complexes coordinated with scorpionate ligand in a tridentate mode against microo

9. Physiological responses of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) cultivars to copper excess
Abstract Abstract: Successive applications of copper fungicides on vines have resulted in increased copper content in vineyard soils over the years. This high copper content has affected the growth of young vines in eradicated vineyards. Thus, the cultivation of annual species for a few years is an alternative to copper phytostabilization, because it would b

11. Chemosensor Development of Cu2+ Recognition Using 1,5-Diphenylthiocarbazone: Optimization, COSMO-RS and DFT Studies
The sensitive and selective chemosensor for copper(II) ions (Cu2+) was successfully optimized using the 1,5-diphenylthiocarbazone (DPT) compound. The result showed that dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) in a 9:1 (DMSO:water) ratio at a pH of 3 was the optimum medium for DPT to act as chemosensor of Cu2+ recognition. The DPT chemosensor did not encounter any interfer
