1. STERIC MASS ACTION MODEL FOR LACTOFERRIN ADSORPTION IN CRYOGEL WITH IMMOBILIZED COPPER IONS
Abstract Parameters of equilibrium adsorption obtained from experiments using immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC) were used to evaluate the applicability of the steric mass-action (SMA) model to describe the adsorption of lactoferrin to cryogel resin under different conditions. The adsorption of lactoferrin on continuous supermacroporous cryogel

Seeking a greater appreciation of cheese whey was developed to process the hydrogenation of lactose for the production of lactitol, a polyol with high added value, using the catalyst Ni / activated carbon (15% and 20% nickel), the nitride Mo2N, the bimetallic carbide Ni-Mo/ activated carbon and carbide Mo2C. After synthesis, the prepared catalysts were analy

Estudo de EquilÃbrio e CinÃtica de AdsorÃÃo em Resinas de Troca IÃnica Aplicado à SeparaÃÃo CromatogrÃfica ContÃnua de Frutose e Glicose do Xarope de Caju / Studies on adsorption equilibrium and kinetics in ion exchange resins applied to the continuous chromatographic separation of fructose and glucose present in cashew apple syrup
Neste contexto, a obt

4. H3PO4/Al2O3 catalysts: characterization and catalytic evaluation of oleic acid conversion to biofuels and biolubricant
Al2O3 and H3PO4/Al2O3 catalysts were investigated in the conversion of oleic acid to biofuels and biolubricant at 1 atm and at 623 K. The catalytic tests were performed in a fixed bed and continuous flow reactor, using an oleic acid-catalyst ratio of 4 and N2 as the carrier gas. The reaction products were analyzed by gas chromatography and acidity measuremen

Chiral stationary phases (CSPs) have shown efficiency in racemate purification. Rolipram, (mais ou menos)-4-(3-(cyclopentyloxy)-4-methoxyphenyl)- pyrrolidin-2-one, is an antidepressant with significant pharmacological properties. The main objective of this work was Rolipram purification in the Chiral Stationary Phase tris(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamoyl) cellulo

6. The use of niobium based catalysts for liquid fuel production
The catalytic properties of niobium based catalysts were investigated in the conversion of oleic acid to liquid fuels at atmospheric pressure and at 623 K. The catalytic tests were performed in a fixed bed and continuous flow reactor using an acid to catalyst ratio equal to 4 and N2 as carrier gas. The reaction products were analyzed by gas chromatography an

7. IMMOBILIZED Saccharomyces cerevisiae AND Leuconostoc oenus FOR ALCOHOLIC AND MALOLACTIC FERMENTATION IN CONTINUOUS WINE MAKING
The use of sugarcane stalks to immobilize microorganisms by adsorption in continuous fermentation was investigated. The canes were peeled and cut horizontally and transversally into pieces 2 × 1 × 1 cm3. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was employed to verify the external and internal structure of the sugarcane stalk support prior to cell immobilization.

Experiments were carried out in the absence of food to define the influence of significant variables of the frying process, Le., oi! unsaturation, temperature, surface-to-oi/ volume ratio, type of heating and dimethylpolysiloxane (DMPS) addition. Special emphasis was placed on clarifying the action of the addition of low concentrations of DMPS to frying oils

Cellulose is a very common natural substance. The hydrolysis of this material is caused by an enzyme complex, acting synergistically, known as cellulase. In such a complex, the enzyme β-glucosidase (EC 3.2.1.21) is responsible for the final step of hydrolysis to form glucose. This enzyme has numerous industrial applications. Particularly important among

10. Purification and characterization of agrocin 84.
A procedure for the rapid purification of milligram quantities of agrocin 84, a bacteriocin-like compound produced by Agrobacterium radiobacter strain K-84, has been developed. This procedure, which employs charcoal adsorption, ion-exchange, sieving chromatography, and continuous-flow electrophoresis, can yield agrocin 84 which is 65% pure on a dry weight ba

11. Selective removal of apolipoprotein B-containing serum lipoproteins from blood plasma.
Studies were undertaken to determine the applicability and effectiveness of immunoadsorption chromatography on anti-low density lipoprotein (LDL) columns as a plasma-cholesterol-lowering procedure. Mass production and isolation of monospecific antibodies against swine LDL (rho = 1.006-1.063 g/ml) was carried out by immunization of sheep with swine LDL and se
