1. Numerical fundamentals and interactive computer graphics system for the nonlinear analysis of planar frames
Abstract Recent scientific and computational advances have facilitated the analysis of slender structural systems subject to instability. With the employment of more sophisticated numerical tools and algorithms, it is possible to accurately determine the critical points (limit and bifurcation loads) as well as the post-critical behavior of the structural sys

2. Análise numérica de painéis pré-moldados de fechamento em edificações de pequena altura / Numerical analysis of precast panels in small height buildings
Abstract: The civil construction has intensified efforts in the search and implementation of strategies for the modernization of the sector, in which the rationalization of constructive processes has a crucial role. The most notable trends are related to employment of systems, wholly or partly pre-fabricated, able to maximize the potential of rationalization

3. Construção participativa de um sistema de informações em uma associação de produtores agroecológicos
Informations permeate productive systems therefore, currently, its management has great relevance. Agroecology has been expanding worldwide, and in Brazil, family farming has a big participation on this production, frequently being held by organizations with associative and cooperative bases. In this context, informations complexity is greater. This work pre

5. Altenative analytical methods to quality evaluation of forages used in animal nutrition / Métodos analíticos alternativos para avaliação da qualidade de forrageiras utilizadas na nutrição animal
Alternative methods were developed for some determinations performed in routine by animal nutrition laboratories, in order to increase laboratory efficiency and reduce costs maintaining analytical quality. In the first step, a multicomutation point to point potentiometric titration system to total acid in silage extracts with the use of a PVC (tridodecilamin

6. Development and application of shunt active filters for three-phase four-wire systems / Estudo e aplicação de filtros ativos paralelos para sistemas trifasicos com quatro fios
Electricity power quality has gained increased importance in the past few years. The growing number of power electronicsbased loads has created a preoccupation about harrnonic distortion in electric systems. Electricity power quality is an important issue both for energy utilities and consumers. Harrnonic poIlution may cause severe problems to electricity ut

8. Uma arquitetura de software baseada em padrões de projeto para o desenvolvimento de aplicações concorrentes confiaveis
Complex computer systems are prone to errors of many kinds, and the most reasonable way of dealing with them is to accept that any complex system has faults and to employ appropriate features for tolerating them during run time. We claim that the most beneficial way of achieving fault tolerance in complex systems is to use system structuring which has fault

10. Simulação por elementos finitos da propagação escalar de feixes opticos
This thesis describes the computer modelling of a wide range of optical waveguides, for integrated optics applications. The modelling described here involves the numerical solution of suitable Maxwell wave equations, such as Helmholtz and Fresnel. Within this context, the Beam Propagation Method (BPM) ar marching methods, can be divided into two general kind

12. Information-seeking practices of dental hygienists.
This paper reports on a survey of the information-seeking, critical-analysis, and computer-application practices of dental hygienists. Questionnaires were mailed to a convenience sample of seventy-one dental hygiene practitioners. A 62% response rate was achieved. Results indicated that discussions with colleagues, continuing education courses, journals, and
