2. A New Buffer in Impact Reduction for Aerospace Applications
Abstract The aim of this paper is to introduce a new buffering mechanism in impact reduction during assembly process of two space vehicles. Probe-cone mechanism, due to its computational easiness, is employed to study impact interaction between multibody systems. The proposed buffer with a compact structure includes a probe equipped with axial and torsional

3. Numerical Material Model for Composite Laminates in High-Velocity Impact Simulation
Abstract A numerical material model for composite laminate, was developed and integrated into the nonlinear dynamic explicit finite element programs as a material user subroutine. This model coupling nonlinear state of equation (EOS), was a macro-mechanics model, which was used to simulate the major mechanical behaviors of composite laminate under high-veloc

4. CFD 2D Description of Local Flow of Polymer Workpiece through a modified U-Shaped Die During Equal Channel Multiple Angular Extrusion
The present article is focused on a 2D computational fluid mechanics study of local viscous flow dynamics and the formation character of rotary modes of deformation during Equal Channel Multiple Angular Extrusion (ECMAE) of a polymer workpiece fluid model through a U-shaped die with parallel slants in channel intersection zones. The present local flow proble

5. Application of the rigid finite element method to modelling ropes
Two-dimensional motion of a rope fixed at one end is considered. The Rigid Finite Element Method (RFEM) is reviewed and applied to obtain a model of the rope, including its elastic and dissipative properties. Equations of motion are derived without the small displacement assumption, using the Lagrange equations. The resulting model is compared to another one

9. Análise,Simulações e Aplicações Algorítmicas de Caminhadas Quânticas / Analysis,Simulations and Algorithmic Applications of Quantum Walks
Quantum computing is a model of computation based on the laws of quantum mechanics, which can be used to develop faster algorithms. The development of efficient quantum algorithms, however, is a highly challenging task. A recent successful approach is the use of quantum walks. In this work, we have studied the quantum walk on the hypercube, obtaining the exa

11. Otimização topológica de transdutores piezelétricos com gadação funcional de material: projeto, simulação, análise e fabricação. / Topology optimization of piezoelectric transducers considering functionally graded material: design, simulation, analysis and fabrication.
Piezoelectric materials generate displacements when they are excited by electrical potential and electrical potential when they are excited by force or pressure. These materials are widely applied in Precision Mechanics, Mechatronics, and Ultrasonic imaging areas. On the other hand, Functionally Graded Materials (FGM) are advanced materials, whose properties

12. Nonadditive entropy and nonextensive statistical mechanics -an overview after 20 years
Statistical mechanics constitutes one of the pillars of contemporary physics. Recognized as such - together with mechanics (classical, quantum, relativistic), electromagnetism and thermodynamics -, it is one of the mandatory theories studied at virtually all the intermediate-and advanced-level courses of physics around the world. As it normally happens with
