1. Effects of Amount of Glass Fiber Laminate Skins in Sandwich Composite of Filled Core
The purpose of this work is the study of the mechanical behavior of two different sandwich composite in static and fatigue analysis of three-point bending, using different amount of glass fiber laminated as skins, remaining with same total thickness. The specimens are composed of glass fiber cloth and epoxy resin. The static tests provided the mechanical pro

2. Influencia de la temperatura en ensayos de arrancamiento sobre diferentes sistemas epoxi-acero de uso en conectores de ductos flexibles
ABSTRACT In the offshore oil fields located in deep and ultra-deep waters they are used flexible pipes. In many cases inside these pipes, the hydrocarbons are transported at elevated temperatures. At the ends of the flexible pipes are installed end fittings, these are the connection with sea platforms and different subsea systems. In the assembly of end fitt

3. Evaluation of Out-of-Autoclave (OOA) epoxy system
Abstract Epoxy resins (EP) usually cure in autoclave to minimize resin voids and to achieve the desired resin/fiber ratio. Cure parameters such as temperature, vacuum and pressure levels are controlled and monitored. Aiming time and cost optimization, new out-of-autoclave (OOA) cure processes have been developed lately. This study evaluated the cure cycle an

4. Effect of the loading of organomodified clays on the thermal and mechanical properties of a model dental resin
Experimental dental resins composed of triethyleneglycol dimethacrylate, urethane dimethacrylate, ethoxylated bisphenol-A-dimethacrylate and bisphenol A glycidyl methacrylate containing an organoclay as filler were prepared by photopolymerization. The addition of organoclay fillers results in slower polymerization rates (0.59 and 0.24 mol L-1 min-1, for the

5. Separation and purification of three stilbenes from the radix of Polygonum cillinerve (Nakai) Ohwl by macroporous resin column chromatography combined with high-speed counter-current chromatography
An effective method for the rapid separation and purification of three stilbenes from the radix of Polygonum cillinerve (Nakai) Ohwl by macroporous resin column chromatography combined with high-speed counter-current chromatography (HSCCC) was successfully established. In the present study, a two-phase solvent system composed of chloroform-n-butanol-methanol

6. Potentiometric determination of Nickel (II) ion using 2-hydroxy-1-naphthylidene-N-cyanoacetohydrazone as electroactive material
A potentiometric Nickel sensor was prepared using 2-hydroxy-1-naphthylidene-N-cyanoacetohydrazone as electro-active material and epoxy resin as a binding material. A membrane composed of 40% Schiff's base and 60% epoxy resin exhibited the best performance. The membrane showed excellent response in the concentration range of 0.15 ppm to 0.1 mol L- 1 Ni+2 ions

7. Candida albicans biofilms and MMA surface treatment influence the adhesion of soft denture liners to PMMA resin
The effect of Candida albicans biofilms and methyl methacrylate (MMA) pretreatment on the bond strength between soft denture liners and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) resin was analyzed. Specimens were prepared and randomly divided with respect to PMMA pretreatment, soft liner type (silicone-based or PMMA-based), and presence or absence of a C. albicans biof

8. Radiopacidade de materiais restauradores estéticos / Radiopacity of esthetic restorative materials

The low density polyethylene (LDPE) is a thermoplastic resin manufactured by high pressure processes, with autoclave or tubular type reactors. The present scenario is of growing demand for LDPE produced at competitive costs, through high performance and capacity plants, so that the process and product development becomes a key factor for the producers, and p

10. Bending in laminas of NFPR: type of reinforcement, fracture and properties
Natural fiber reinforced plastics (NFRP) have awakened considerable interest in the area of polymer composites, because of the need to develop new, environmentally friendly materials. One of the most complex ways of manufacturing this type of material is in the form of ultrathin laminar layers; however, this process hinders mechanical testing, mainly three a

11. INSERÇÃO DE NANOPARTÍCULAS METÁLICAS EM RESINA EPÓXI: estudos espectroscópicos. / INSERTION OF METAL NANOPARTICLES IN EPOXY RESIN: spectroscopic studies.
This work describes the production and characterization of colloidal solution of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and insertion of this colloidal solution in a polymeric ma-trix of epoxy resin. The first stage of this work was the preparation of AgNPs in colloi-dal solution, using AgNO3 as the precursor, ethylene glycol as a medium and dispersant sodium citrate

12. Obtenção e caracterização de frações purificadas de saponinas de chenopodium quinoa e avaliação da formação de complexos do tipo iscom : atividades biológicas das frações e dos complexos formados
Chenopodium quinoa (quinoa) seeds are a rich protein source and well-known for their high saponin content. Chemically, quinoa saponins are triterpene glycosides being phytolaccagenic, hederagenin, oleanolic and serjanic acids the most common aglycones found in seeds. Its immunoadjuvant properties have been examined and the results obtained were conflicting.
