1. Study of the CuII Affinity by Three Chelating Agents of Biological Interest: TPEN, TRIEN and Et2DTC
Copper is an important micronutrient, and it is present in some protein structures, as well as participate in several important biological processes. Due to its importance, some ligands are used and studied like carriers of copper in the biological systems. This work has investigated the affinity of CuII by three ligands of biological interest: N, N, N, N’

2. Synergistic Supramolecular Effect on the Electro-Oxidation of Biological Relevant Molecules: A Novel Sensor for Simultaneous Determination of Epinephrine and Uric Acid in Human Urine Using MWCNT and a Copper(II) Complex
In this paper a novel supramolecular strategy to improve the efficiency of a voltammetric sensor to determine two biologically relevant molecules (epinephrine (EP) and uric acid (UA)) is presented. The strategy is based on the use of a glassy carbon electrode modified with a copper(II) complex ([Cu(H2dimpy)Cl]PF6) adsorbed on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (M

4. SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF NEW Cu (II), Co (II) AND Sn (II) COMPLEXES WITH THE SODIUM HYDROTRIS(2-MERCAPTOTHIAZOLYL)BORATE LIGAND
The emergence of antibiotic resistance among microbial pathogens is a serious public health problem, resulting in a constant need of discovering new antibiotics. For this purpose, we synthetized and determined the antimicrobial activity of copper (Cu), cobalt (Co), and tin (Sn) complexes coordinated with scorpionate ligand in a tridentate mode against microo

5. New Metal-Organic Systems with a Functionalized Oxamate-Type Ligand and MnII, FeII, CuII and ZnII
Four new complexes of formula [Fe(H2pcpa)2(H2O)2] (1), {[Mn(Hpcpa)(H2O)3]•1/2H2O}n (2), {[Zn(Hpcpa)(H2O)3]•1/2H2O}n (3) and [Cu2(Hpcpa)2(bipy)2]•8H2O (4) [H3pcpa = N-(4-carboxyphenyl)oxamic acid; bipy = 2,2¢-bipyridine] have been synthesized and their structures determined by X-ray diffraction. The structure of 1 consists of mononuclear iron(II) units

6. Chemosensor Development of Cu2+ Recognition Using 1,5-Diphenylthiocarbazone: Optimization, COSMO-RS and DFT Studies
The sensitive and selective chemosensor for copper(II) ions (Cu2+) was successfully optimized using the 1,5-diphenylthiocarbazone (DPT) compound. The result showed that dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) in a 9:1 (DMSO:water) ratio at a pH of 3 was the optimum medium for DPT to act as chemosensor of Cu2+ recognition. The DPT chemosensor did not encounter any interfer

7. Potential of hydrogen (pH) differentially modulates cadmium stress response in abscisic acid-deficient sitiens tomato mutant
ABSTRACT Uptake of nutrients and cadmium (Cd) are dependent upon many factors, including plant species, ions concentration and pH. Tolerance to Cd-induced oxidative stress can be modulated by phytohormones such as abscisic acid (ABA), which induce the production of reactive oxygen species, activating proteins and enzymes involved in stress response and possi

8. Synthesis, Characterization and Antimicrobial Activities of Copper, Nickel, Cobalt, Chromium Complexes Derived from (Z)-4-Fluoro-N-(2,7-dimethylhept-6-enylidene) benzenamine
Melonal is a relatively unexplored ingredient in the field of chemistry with excellent sensory properties. The synthesis and characterization of novel transition 3d metal complexes of copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II) and chromium(III) involving the Schiff base of melonal were explored to examine their biological activity. Characterization of the complexes

9. Copper(II) Nitroaromatic Schiff Base Complexes: Synthesis, Biological Activity and Their Interaction with DNA and Albumins
Copper(II) complexes of the Schiff base ligands 2-((5-nitrofuran-2-yl)methyleneamino)phenol (HL1) and 2-(4-nitrobenzylideneamino)phenol (HL2) were prepared and characterized using physicochemical and spectroscopic techniques. In these complexes the Schiff base ligands acted as a bidentate donor bound to Cu2+ through the oxygen and nitrogen atoms in the depro

12. Separation and preconcentration of copper in environmental samples on Amberlite XAD-8 resin after complexation with a carbothioamide derivative
A new solid phase extraction (SPE) method has been developed for the selective separation and preconcentration of Cu (II) ions in food and water samples prior to its flame atomic absorption spectrometry determination. The method is based on the adsorption of the Cu(II) - 2-{[4-Amino-3-(4-methylphenyl-5-oxo-4,5-dihydro-1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl]acetyl}-N-phenyl h
