1. Descriptive Anatomy of Hepatic and Portal Veins with Special Reference to Biliary Duct System in Broiler Chickens (Gallus gallus domesticus): A Recent Illustration
ABSTRACT Chickens have a great participation in meat and egg production. The anatomical scientific data of poultry is important to support the recent researches either for illustrations in academic studies or clinically in diagnosis and treatment of some poultry nutritional diseases. The current investigation was performed on twenty broiler chickens of both

2. The role of gadoxetic acid-enhanced magnetic resonance cholangiography in the evaluation of postoperative bile duct injury: pictorial essay

3. The application of Compont gel in chronic obstructive jaundice rats model
Abstract Purpose: To establish a new rat model, the pathogenesis of which is closer to the clinical occurrence of chronic obstructive jaundice with liver fibrosis. Methods: 90 SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups. Group A common bile duct ligation, group B common bile duct injection compont and group C injection saline. The serum of three groups was

4. MULTIVARIATE ANALYSIS OF BILIARY FLOW-RELATED FACTORS AND POST-KASAI SURVIVAL IN BILIARY ATRESIA PATIENTS

5. Long-term effects of human amniotic membrane in a rat model of biliary fibrosis
Liver fibrosis is the most common outcome of chronic liver diseases, and its progression to cirrhosis can only be effectively treated with liver transplantation. The amniotic membrane (AM) has been studied as an alternative therapy for fibrosis diseases mainly for its favorable properties, including anti-inflammatory, anti-scaring and immunomodulatory proper

6. Effect of glutamine supplementation on left colon healing in rats with extrahepatic biliary obstruction
PURPOSE:To evaluate the influence of glutamine and obstructive jaundice on left colon healing in rats.METHODS: Sixteen male rats were allocated across four groups: LG - Common bile duct ligation followed by colotomy and bowel suture on postoperative day 7. Supplementation with glutamine 2% from day 4 after duct ligation until euthanasia. L - Common bile duct

7. Effect of vitamin K1 supplementation on left colon healing in rats with extrahepatic biliary obstruction
PURPOSE:To evaluate the effects of vitamin K1 on wound healing in the left colon of rats with experimental biliary obstruction.METHODS: Sixteen male rats, divided into four groups of four animals each (L, M, LK, and MK), underwent colostomy followed by bowel suture in the left colon. Seven days before, animals in the L and LK groups had undergone common bile

8. Effects of the administration of pentoxifylline and prednisolone on the evolution of portal fibrogenesis secondary to biliary obstruction in growing animals: immunohistochemical analysis of the expression of TGF-β and VEGF
OBJECTIVE: During the neonatal and infancy periods, some chronic liver diseases may lead to progressive hepatic fibrosis, which is a condition that can ultimately result in the loss of organ function and severe portal hypertension necessitating hepatic transplantation. In a previous report, pharmacological interventions were demonstrated to modulate hepatic

9. Advances in biliary atresia : from patient care to research
Biliary atresia, the most common cause of liver transplantation in children, remains a challenge for clinicians and investigators. The development of new therapeutic options, besides the typical hepatoportoenterostomy, depends on a greater understanding of its pathogenesis and how it relates to the clinical phenotypes at diagnosis and the rate of disease pro

11. Cisto de colédoco em adulto: anomalia da junção do colédoco com o ducto pancreático submetido à ressecção do cisto e à derivação biliar e pancreática
Common bile duct cysts are rare congenital anomalies which have been diagnosed only in twenty per cent of adults. The etiology is uncertain, but many patients have an anomalous pancreatobiliary junction anatomy. We present a case of a young man with a type I Alonso-Lej/ Todani common bile duct cyst and an anomalous common bile duct-pancreatic junction anatom

12. Reconstrução da via biliar com tubo de segmento jejunal : nova tecnica cirurgica - estudo experimental em cães / Recontruction of the biliary tract with jejunal segment tube : new surgical technique - experimental study in dogs
An ideal model for reconstruction of extensive lesions of the biliary tract has not been found so far. The Roux-en-Y reconstruction is a classic reconstruction and presents advantages as the low incidence of intestine contents reflux to the biliary tract. However, since this is not anatomical, it impedes or impairs the endoscopic access to the biliary tract.
