1. EL VERBO SER: CÓMO ORIENTAR LA COMUNICACIÓN
ABSTRACT The positioning of the verb ser corresponds to a logical and pragmatic-discursive necessity, before than linguistic-formal one, useful to emphasize some sentence constituent. We will analyze the focalizing role of the copula, and we will compare the spanish cleft sentences with their corresponding italian phrases too, trying to make emerge the coinc

2. Assessing the association between hypoxia during craniofacial development and oral clefts
Abstract Objectives To evaluate the association between hypoxia during embryo development and oral clefts in an animal model, and to evaluate the association between polymorphisms in the HIF-1A gene with oral clefts in human families. Material and Methods The study with the animal model used zebrafish embryos at 8 hours post-fertilization submitted to 30%

3. Para uma análise sintática das construções relativas no crioulo da ilha de São Nicolau - Cabo Verde / For a syntatic analysis of relative constructions in the Creole from the island of São Nicolau

4. Uma análise variacionista para as interrogativas - Q / Variationist analysis for the wh-interrogative
The investigation of syntactic and morphosyntactic variables within the framework of Variationist ociolinguistics has received, in general, less attention than the study of phonological variables. This study analyses variation amaong four different structures of Wh-interrogatives in the speech and writing of native paulistanos: (i) \ simple\ wh-interrogative

5. Computed tomography: angulation and inclination of upper and lower anterior teeth in patients with bilateral cleft lip and palate / Tomografia computadorizada: inclinação e angulação dos dentes anteriores em pacientes com fissura labiopalatina bilateral
Objectives: (1) To evaluate tooth tipping and long axis angulation using computed tomography (CT), after orthodontic treatment in patients with bilateral cleft lip and palate. (2) Morphological evaluation of bone and dental structures and their relationship offered by CT. Methods: Ten patients with bilateral cleft lip and palate were select. Long axis´ tomo

6. Long axis and tipping evaluation of mandible and maxilla anterior teeth by cone beam tomography in patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate / Avaliação da angulação e inclinação dos dentes anteriores por meio de tomografia computadorizada por feixe cônico, em pacientes com fissura transforame incisivo unilateral
Recent developments on the field of imaginology allowed computed tomography to become largely used in dentistry. Details of anatomic structures can be visualized with high quality images and measurements can be taken on several plans helping all professionals involved on the treatment of patients with alveolar bone defect, malocclusion and facial deformities

7. Tamanho do véu e profundidade da nasofaringe em indivíduos com disfunção velofaríngea / Velar lenght and depth of the nasopharynx in individuals with velopharyngeal dysfunction
The objectives of the present study were: 1) to measure and to describe length and thickness of the velum and depth of nasopharynx for individuals with unilateral operated cleft lip and palate (UCLP) with velopharyngeal dysfunction (VPD); 2) to calculate and describe the depth of nasopharynx to velar length ratio (D/L); 3) to compare measures found for the i

8. Estudo de difração de raios-x a alta resolução da beta-lactoglobulina bovina
Beta-lactoglobulin (BLG), a very abundant protein found in several species of mammals belongs to the lipocalin family. Under physiological conditions, BLG is a dimmer of 162 aminoacids per monomer, with a molecular mass of approximately 18kDa in each subunit. Although BLG has important physicochemical properties, its biological function remains unclear. BLG

9. The Stickler syndrome presenting as a dominantly inherited cleft palate and blindness.
The Stickler syndrome is a newly recognized, but probably relatively frequent inherited generalized connective tissue disorder involving skeleton, eye, and oro-facial structures. A family with three affected generations is discussed. Severe myopia leading to blindness, cleft palate, or subnucous cleft, Pierre Robin anomaly, premature degenerative arthritis,

10. Homology among acid proteases: comparison of crystal structures at 3A resolution of acid proteases from Rhizopus chinensis and Endothia parasitica.
The molecular structures of two fungal acid proteases at 3 A resolution have been compared, and found to have similar secondary and tertiary folding. These enzymes are bilobal and have a pronounced cleft between the two lobes. This cleft has been identified as the active site region from inhibitor binding studies. The results of the comparison are discussed

11. Isolated cleft palate in mice with a targeted mutation of the LIM homeobox gene Lhx8
Formation of the mammalian secondary palate is a highly regulated and complex process whose impairment often results in cleft palate, a common birth defect in both humans and animals. Loss-of-function analysis has linked a growing number of genes to this process. Here we report that Lhx8, a recently identified LIM homeobox gene, is expressed in the mesenchym

12. Crystal structures of actin-related protein 2/3 complex with bound ATP or ADP
Actin-related protein (Arp) 2/3 complex stimulates formation of actin filaments at the leading edge of motile cells. Nucleation of filaments depends on hydrolysis of ATP bound to Arp2. Here we report crystal structures of Arp2/3 complex with bound ATP or ADP. The nucleotides are immobilized on the face of subdomains 3 and 4 of Arp2, whereas subdomains 1 and
