1. Efeitos da associação de sinvastatina e ezetimiba na cinética de quilomícrons artificiais em pacientes portadores de doença arterial coronária estável / Favourable effects of ezetimibe alone or in association with simvastatin on the removal from plasma of chylomicrons in coronary heart disease subject

2. Metabolismo de quilomícrons e aterosclerose subclínica em portadores de hipercolesterolemia familiar heterozigótica / Chylomicrons metabolism and subclinical atherosclerosis in patients with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia

3. Responses of postprandial lipemia in young men, after continuous and intermittent exercise / Respostas da lipemia pós-prandial em homens jovens, após exercício contínuo e intermitente
Background: Increased plasma triglyceride-rich lipoprotein (chylomicrons, VLDL and LDL) concentration, as well as the delay in their removal, has been associated with coronary artery diseases (CVD). The postprandial lipaemia is related to peripheral vascular changes, stimulated by inflammatory markers and enhanced by oxidative metabolism of low density lipop

4. Chylomicron metabolism and lipid reception capacity of high density lipoprotein in metabolic syndrome (MetS) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) / Metabolismo dos quilomícrons e capacidade da lipoproteína de alta densidade (HDL) de receber lípides na síndrome metabólica e no diabetes mellitus tipo 2
The main metabolic disturbances occurring as a result of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) and Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) are alterations in the metabolism of lipids. It is therefore, important to better understand the aspects by which plasma lipoproteins are metabolized. The evaluation of chylomicron metabolism and lipid transfer of high density lipoprotein (HD

5. Lipolysis of emulsion models of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins is altered in male patients with abdominal aorta aneurysm
Disorders of the lipid metabolism may play a role in the genesis of abdominal aorta aneurysm. The present study examined the intravascular catabolism of chylomicrons, the lipoproteins that carry the dietary lipids absorbed by the intestine in the circulation in patients with abdominal aorta aneurysm. Thirteen male patients (72 ± 5 years) with abdominal aort

7. Abnormal lipid composition of chylomicrons in broad-β disease (type III hyperlipoproteinemia)
Chylomicron (primary particles) were detected by polyvinylpyrollidone (PVP) flocculation in plasma collected after an overnight fast from eight hyperlipemic subjects with broad-β disease (type III hyperlipoproteinemia). The composition of these chylomicrons was abnormal: relatively poor in triglyceride and rich in cholesterol, giving rise to a triglyceride/

8. Apolipoprotein B (B-48) of rat chylomicrons is not a precursor of the apolipoprotein of low density lipoproteins.
We have found that, in chylomicrons from intestinal lymph fistulas in the rat, the sole molecular species of apolipoprotein B (apo B) is B-48. This protein is analogous to the B-48 apoprotein of human chylomicrons. In contrast, preparations of chylomicrons from blood serum are known to contain species of B apolipoproteins of higher molecular weight, presumab

9. Chylomicrons alter the fate of endotoxin, decreasing tumor necrosis factor release and preventing death.
The hypertriglyceridemia of infection was traditionally thought to represent the mobilization of substrate to fuel the body's response to the infectious challenge. However, we have previously shown that triglyceride-rich lipoproteins can protect against endotoxin-induced lethality. The current studies examine the mechanism by which this protection occurs. Ra

10. Liver uptake of chylomicron remnants with high and low apoprotein E:C ratios.
The ability of the isolated perfused rat liver to differentiate between chylomicrons and remnants with either high or low apoprotein E:C ratios was investigated. Remnants were prepared in hepatectomized rats injected with chylomicrons double-labeled with [3H]cholesterol and 14C-labeled fatty acids. By densitometric scanning of polyacrylamide gels, the apopro

11. Regulation of serum apolipoprotein E metabolism: role of chylomicron metabolism.
The mechanism by which high-fat, high-cholesterol diets lower serum apolipoprotein E (apoE) concentration was studied in rats by feeding a single high-fat, high-cholesterol meal and by intravenously infusing chylomicrons containing low and high amounts of cholesterol. Serum apoE concentrations were unchanged 9 hours after an olive oil meal but were decreased

12. Effect of apoproteins on hepatic uptake of triglyceride emulsions in the rat.
The addition of apoprotein E isolated from human very low density lipoproteins to both rat lymph chylomicrons and a triglyceride emulsion significantly increased the hepatic uptake of these particles in a nonrecycling isolated rat liver perfusion system. The cleared triglyceride was removed without apparent hydrolysis by the hepatocyte. When lymph chylomicro
