1. Spatial Diversity Effect on the Experimental Gain of Capacity of the Outdoor Mobile Radio Channel in the 700 MHz Band
Abstract From measurements performed in the 700 MHz band, this paper analyzes the effect of spatial diversity on the channel capacity through the propagation of an OFDM mobile radio signal and compares with the results of a single branch providing what improvement of the capacity is attained with the SIMO system.

2. COST-EFFECTIVE BANDWIDTH PROVISIONING IN MICROWAVE WIRELESS NETWORKS UNDER UNRELIABLE CHANNEL CONDITIONS
ABSTRACT Cost-effective planning and dimensioning of backhaul microwave networks under unreliable channel conditions remains a relatively underexplored area in the literature. In particular, bandwidth assignment requires special attention as the transport capacity of microwave links is prone to variations due to, e.g., weather conditions. In this paper, we f

3. Experimental Evaluation of the Mobile Radio Channel Capacity in the 2.48 GHz Band
Abstract This paper deals with the effect of the Single-Input Multiple-Output spatial diversity on the OFDM mobile radio signal propagating in an urban channel. From measurements performed in Rio de Janeiro city, Brazil, by using two receiving antennas at diversity, the calculated capacity presented an improvement when compared to the individual one.

4. Surface drainage system for dry docks in shipyards - Case study of Estaleiro Rio Grande (Technical Note)
Abstract This study aims to present a methodology for the design of a surface drainage system for dry docks in shipyards, taking into account the rainfall intensity at the site, the damping capacity of the hydraulic structures (drainage channels) and the pumping capacity of the pumping system. A case study of a dry dock owned by Estaleiro Rio Grande, located

5. Permanent neonatal diabetes by a new mutation in KCNJ11: unsuccessful switch to sulfonylurea
Permanent neonatal diabetes (PNDM) can result from activating heterozygous mutations in KCNJ11 gene, encoding the Kir6.2 subunit of the pancreatic ATP-sensitive potassium channels (KATP). Sulfonylureas promote KATP closure and stimulate insulin secretion, being an alternative therapy in PNDM, instead of insulin. Male, 20 years old, diagnosed with diabetes at

6. Local/Distortional/Global buckling mode interaction on thin walled lipped channel columns
The buckling behaviour of pin ended cold-formed steel lipped channel columns affected by local / distortional / global buckling mode interaction under axial loading is simulated by using finite element software ABAQUS, and the results are compared with the test results available in the literature. The comparisons show that the proper analysis model can simul

7. Study on the capacity of cold-formes steel built-up battened colums under axial compression
This paper presents the theoretical and numerical investigation results of the pin ended cold-formed steel built-up battened columns under axial compression. The finite element model was developed using the finite element software ABAQUS. The comparison of finite element analysis results match with the test results available in the literature shows that the

8. Spectrally-efficient 17.6-Tb/s DWDM optical transmission system over 678 km with pre-filtering analysis
We present and analyze a 17.6-Tb/s DWDM optical transmission composed of 79 channels with 224-Gb/s RZ-DP-16QAM modulation format per-channel and coherent detection. A maximum reach of 678 km is obtained with an optical recirculation loop composed by 226 km of pure-silica core fibers and EDFA amplification only in a 50-GHz grid system with spectral efficiency

10. Orçamento participativo: os limites da inovação institucional em Cuiabá-MT / Participative budget: the limits of institutional innovation in Cuiabá-MT/Brazil
The democratization process in Brazil in recent decades resulted from the combination of different forms of collective mobilization and changes in the state apparatus. The end of authoritarianism and democracy openness produced new sociopolitical arrangements of popular participation and enhancement of citizenship, through of creation of inclusive mechanisms

11. VHDL SIMPLE SYSTEM FOR DEVELOPING A SETUP OFMULTIPLE ANTENNAS / SISTEMA SIMPLES EM VHDL PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO DE UM SETUP DE MÚLTIPLAS ANTENAS
MIMO systems (Multiple In - Multiple Out) are the rise of new tele- communication systems. They have the characteristic of generating greater channel capacity with low power transmitters, creating a more efficient use of energy. As the purpose is to provide higher data rate, conventional methods are too limited to improve this, and MIMO systems generate an i

12. Aplicação de novos materiais em transistores de efeito de campo ferroelétricos
In this work, we investigated the electrical properties of the polyelectrolyte PSS in its sodium form (PSS-Na, Polystyrene sulfonic in the sodium form) and acid form (PSS-H, polystyrene sulfonic in the acid form) and also doped with Fe3+ for application in Ferroelectric Field Effect Transistors (Fe-FET). The PSS-Na was acquired from Aldrich and PSS-H was obt
