1. A NOVEL Scytalidium SPECIES: UNDERSTAND THE CELLULOLYTIC SYSTEM FOR BIOMASS SACCHARIFICATION
ABSTRACT In order to overcome the bottlenecks related to lignocellulosic-derived sugars, the search for more efficient enzymatic cocktails, containing a broad-spectrum of specific activities, relies on an important feature. This paper describes new enzyme activities derived from the novel strain of the Scytalidium genus isolated from the Amazonas rainforest.

3. Inducible cellulase production from an organic solvent tolerant Bacillus sp. SV1 and evolutionary divergence of endoglucanase in different species of the genus Bacillus
Abstract Bacteria are important sources of cellulases with various industrial and biotechnological applications. In view of this, a non-hemolytic bacterial strain, tolerant to various environmental pollutants (heavy metals and organic solvents), showing high cellulolytic index (7.89) was isolated from cattle shed soil and identified as Bacillus sp. SV1 (99.2

4. DESAFIOS RELACIONADOS À PRODUÇÃO E APLICAÇÃO DAS ENZIMAS CELULOLÍTICAS NA HIDRÓLISE DA BIOMASSA LIGNOCELULÓSICA
The second generation (2G) ethanol obtained from lignocellulosic biomass has been considered as a potential alternative source of energy for the transportation sector. However, the technologies to convert lignocellulose into fermentable sugars still face several challenges. One of the major challenges of this process is related to the cost of the cellulolyti

5. Endophytic fungi found in association with Bacopa monnieri as potential producers of industrial enzymes and antimicrobial bioactive compounds
This study aimed to screen the endophytic fungal species of ethano-medicinal plant Bacopa monnieri (L.) Pennell for their ability to produce antimicrobial substances against Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Salmonella typhimurium, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans. Endophytes were also screened for

6. Production of bioethanol using agricultural waste: banana pseudo stem
India is amongst the largest banana (Musa acuminata) producing countries and thus banana pseudo stem is commonly available agricultural waste to be used as lignocellulosic substrate. Present study focuses on exploitation of banana pseudo stem as a source for bioethanol production from the sugars released due to different chemical and biological pretreatments

7. Isolation and characterization of bacterial strains with a hydrolytic profile with potential use in bioconversion of agroindustial by-products and waste
There is a trend towards the use of novel technologies nowadays, mainly focused on biological processes, for recycling and the efficient utilization of organic residues that can be metabolized by different microorganisms as a source of energy. In the present study the isolation of bacterial strains from six different agro-industrial by-products and waste was

8. Obtenção de inoculante e de coquetel enzimático lignocelulolítico a partir de comunidades microbianas termofílicas / Acquisition of an inoculant and a lignocellulolytic enzymatic cocktail from thermophilic microbial communities
Three thermophilic lignocellulolytic microbial communities were selected by enriched method with continual subcultivation at 55 C. One community was selected from cow manure compost, another from decaying sugar cane bagasse, and the last one was obtained by mixing aliquots of the culture suspension from the first two. Those communities were able to degrade a
