1. Effect of Growth Velocity and Zn Content on Microhardness in Directionally Solidified Al-Zn Alloys
In this study, Al-xZn (x=1, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 20 wt. %) alloys were prepared using metals of 99.99% high purity in the vacuum atmosphere. These alloys were directionally solidified upward with a constant temperature gradient, G (10.3 K/mm) and different growth velocities (V) between 8.25 and 165 µm/s in the directional solidification apparatus. The experiment

2. Transient Unidirectional Solidification, Microstructure and Intermetallics in Sn-Ni Alloys
The present research work examines the microstructural arrangements formed during the transient solidification of eutectic Sn-0.2wt.%Ni and hypereutectic Sn-0.5wt.%Ni alloys. Also, it examines their respective correlations with solidification thermal parameters: eutectic growth rate (VE) and eutectic cooling rate (ṪE); length scales of matrix and eutectic

3. Macrosegregation of Impurities in a Metallurgical Silicon Ingot After Transient Directional Solidification
Metallurgical grade silicon was melted and directionally solidified in transient conditions by extracting heat from the base of a cylindrical ingot and inserting heat at the ingot top. A heat-transfer mathematical model was implemented to predict the solidification velocity and temperature gradient using cooling curves measured directly in the silicon melt.

4. Semi-quantitative model of the microstructure development in the high-alloyed iron based alloy during atomization
The paper deals with the analysis of microstructure formation in the tool steel of ledeburite type Ch12MF4 with the chemical composition of 2.37% C, 12.06% Cr, 1.2% Mo and 4.0 % V [wt. (%)] in the process of nitrogen gas atomization. Three main types of solidification microstructures were observed in rapidly solidified powder particles: dendritic, compound a

5. Cellular structures, cellular/dendritic transition and dendritic structures during transient unidirectional solidification / Estruturas celulares, transição celular/dendritica e estruturas dendriticas na solidificação unidirecional transitoria

Desenvolvimento osseo e dentario : aspectos biologicos, bioquimicos e moleculares da remodelação da matriz extracelular regulada pelas metaloproteinases de matriz e seus inibidores / Dental and bone development : biology, biochemistry, and molecular aspects of the matrix metalloproteinases and their inhibitors during extracellular matrix remodeling
Our objective was to analyse the spatial-temporal distribution of MMP-2, MMP-9, TIMP-1, TIMP-2 and RECK during development of mineralized tissue (bone, enamel, and dentine) in embryos, newborn, and adult mice by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization. During rat amelogenesis, at the secretion phase, MMPs and RECK were immunostained in the ameloblast

7. Theoretical - Experimental Analysis of Cellular and Primary Dendritic Spacings during Unidirectional Solidification of Sn-Pb Alloys
Structural parameters as grain size, dendritic and cellular spacings, segregated products, porosity and other phases are strongly influenced by the thermal behavior of the metal/mold system during solidification, imposing a close correlation between this and the resulting microstructure. Several unidirectional solidification studies with the objective of cha
