14. Transcriptional networks reconstruction: identification of genes involved on cattle response to tick Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus infestation.
In tropical countries, losses caused by tick infestation in cattle lead to a great impact on animal production systems. Weight and feed conversion reduction, together with diseases transmitted by the parasite are some of the problems that lead to economic losses of billion dollars a year. In a general way, Bos taurus indicus cattle are less susceptible to in

Detecção do vírus da diarreia viral bovina em carrapatos Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus alimentados em bovino persistentemente infectado= Detection of bovine viral diarrhea virus in Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus ticks fed on persistently infected cattle / Detection of bovine viral diarrhea virus in Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus ticks fed on persistently infected cattle
Background: Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is one of the main agents that cause economical losses in cattle worldwide. Congenitally infected calves that are born persistently infected (PI) to BVDV are the main sources of infection to susceptible cattle. Direct contact is the most important form of transmission, but indirect contact can also spread BVDV,

18. Endocrinologia e controle da vitelogênese em carrapatos = Endocrinology and control of tick vitellogenesis / Endocrinology and control of tick vitellogenesis
Background: Ticks are distributed worldwide, with impacts on human and animal health. The cattle tick Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus is the main parasite that affects livestock in tropical and subtropical regions of the world, causing large economical losses. Tick control methods are based on the application of chemical acaricides, which has resulted in

20. Localization and function of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus vitellin-degrading cysteine endopeptidase
The tick Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus is an important parasite of cattle in many areas of the tropics. Characterization of molecules involved in mechanisms such as vitellogenesis and embryo development may contribute to a better understanding of this parasite’s physiology. The vitellin-degrading cysteine endopeptidase (VTDCE) is the most active enzy

22. Percepção dos produtores do sul de Minas Gerais sobre a importância e formas de controle do carrapato Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus (Canestrini, 1887) / Characterization of dairy farmers perception about importance and control methods of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus (Canestrini, 1887), Minas Gerais, Brazil

Ticks are obligatory hematophagous ectoparasites and are thus infectious disease vectors for both humans and animals. To understand the epidemiology of tick-borne infectious diseases it is essential to know the life cycle of ticks. Amblyomma parvum is a Neotropical tick and its life cycle is poorly understood. In this work the biology of A. parvum is describ

24. Isolamento e caracterização de peptídeos antimicrobianos derivados da digestão da hemoglobina em Rhipicephalus (Boophilus microplus) / Isolation and characterization of antimicrobial peptides produced during hemoglobin digestion on Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus.
The hemoglobin posses a great potential as an antimicrobial, being denominated hemocidins the antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) derived from heme containing proteins. The cattle tick Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus is capable of processing large amounts of blood to its own metabolism. In this work we purified the hemocidins that are produced in the tick gut.
