1. Effect of different vitamin D3 metabolites on intestinal calcium homeostasis-related gene expression in broiler chickens
ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of vitamin D3 metabolites 1α-hydroxycholecalciferol (1α(OH)D3), 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25(OH)2D3), and 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol (1,25(OH)2D3) on growth performance, bone quality, and intestinal calcium homeostasis-related gene expression in broiler chickens. One-day-old broilers wer

2. Effects of calcium to non-phytate phosphorus ratio and different sources of vitamin D on growth performance and bone mineralization in broiler chickens
ABSTRACT - A 7 × 2 factorial experiment was designed to test the effects of calcium (Ca) to non-phytate phosphorus (NPP) ratio (1.14, 1.43, 1.71, 2.00, 2.29, 2.57, and 2.86) and different sources of vitamin D (1α-hydroxycholecalciferol (1α-OH-D3) and 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-OH-D3)) on growth performance and bone mineralization in 1- to 42-d-old broi

3. Effects of Non-phytate Phosphorus and 1a-Hydroxycholecalciferol on Growth Performance, Bone Mineralization, and Carcass Traits of Broiler Chickens
ABSTRACT This study evaluated the effects of dietary non-phytate phosphorus (NPP) and 1a-hydroxycholecalciferol (1a-OH-D3) on the growth performance, bone mineralization, and carcass traits of 1- to 21-day-old broiler chickens. On the day of hatch, 600 male Ross 308 chicks were weighed and randomly assigned to 12 treatments, with five cages of 10 birds each.

4. Haplótipos de diferentes SNPs no interior do gene EWS em indivíduos afetados e não-afetados pelo sarcoma de Ewing
Ewings sarcoma was first described by James Ewing in 1921 and it is the second most common bone tumor in children and young adults. Both chromosomal breakage and translocation occur in this sarcoma. The EWS gene is localized in chromosome 22 and is involved in this translocation. However, little is known about this gene breaking region and what sequences cou

5. Anionic variation of diets on bone characteristics of broilers at 7 and 14 days of age
The objective of this study was to evaluate the chemical composition and bone strength of the tibiotarsus of broilers at 7 and 14 days of age. Bone percentages of collagenous protein (CPr), non-collagenous protein (NCPr) and minerals (calcium, phosphorus, potassium and sodium) were determined. The experiment utilized 650 male Cobb chicks at one day of age, f

6. Available phosphorus in diets for 15 to 30 kg pigs genetically selected for meat deposition
With the objective to evaluate the effect of dietary available phosphorus levels (aP) on the performance, blood and bone parameters of castrated male and female pigs, genetically selected for meat deposition, 60 commercial hybrids pigs with initial weight of 15.54±0.68 kg were allotted in a completely randomized block design, with six treatments (0.103, 0.2

7. Efeitos do exercício físico sobre propriedades estruturais e mecânicas do fêmur de ratos com Diabetes mellitus experimental / Effects of exercise on structural and mechanical properties of the femur isolated from rats with experimental Diabetes mellitus

8. Evaluation of tibial dyschondroplasia development in broiler chickens fed diets containing 25 hydroxicolecalciferol: ultrastructural characteristics / Avaliação do desenvolvimento da discondroplasia tibial em frangos de corte submetidos à dieta com 25 hidroxicolecalciferol: características ultraestruturais
This research was carried out to evaluate the performance and the development of tibial dyschondroplasia (TD) in broilers from 1 to 21 days. Four hundred forty day-old male chickens, from broiler breeders aged 60-62 weeks, were randomly distributed in a 3x3+2 factorial arrangement, resulting in 11 treatments with four replicates of 10 birds each. The factors

xi The precocious recognition of the aged women how much the biggest possibility to have the illness osteoporosis is basic to diminish the impact that sequels of this disease can cause. Osteoporosis is a quiet illness what it implies in the recognition of the factors of inherent risk to each woman in the determination of strategies of improvement of the qual

10. Evaluation of Bone Strength During Aflatoxicosis and Ochratoxicosis †
Young chickens were fed graded levels of aflatoxin (0, 0.625, 1.25, 2.5, 5.0, and 10.0 μg/g of diet) or ochratoxin (0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, and 8.0 μg/g of diet), and the breaking strength, displacement before failure, and diameter of their tibias were determined. Breaking strength was decreased at growth inhibitory levels of aflatoxin (2.5 μg/g) and ochra

11. Metabolic effects of low aflatoxin B1 levels on broiler chicks.
The effects of daily ingestion of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) on growth, feed intake, plasma glucose, plasma cholesterol, plasma amino acids, plasma albumin, plasma ceruloplasmin, muscle amino acids, liver lipid, and bone strength were studied. For 3 weeks, beginning at an age of 2 days, broiler chicks were dosed daily per os with 50 or 100 micrograms of AFB1 per kg
