1. IMIDAZOL E CATÁLISE: UM PAR PERFEITO
The imidazole (IMZ) ring presents several chemical properties that turns it into a versatile acid-basic/nucleophilic catalyst. The discovery of the biological properties of histidine (amino acid with IMZ ring) instigates the study of this class of compounds. It is found in nature in several enzymes such as chymotrypsin and RNAses due to these properties. Thi

2. Self-Assembled Nanoparticles of Diruthenium(II,III)-Ibuprofen Anticancer Metallodrug
The diruthenium(II,III)-ibuprofen (RuIbp) metallodrug shows anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. The encapsulation into lipid nanoparticles enhanced the efficacy in glioblastoma, breast and prostate cancer cells. Here we report data for RuIbp hydrophobicity, solubility in alcohol/water, and behavior in 1-5% ethanol/water and ethanol/cell culture medium.

3. Synthesis, Characterization, Spectroelectrochemical, Photophysical and HSA-Binding Properties of Novel and Versatile meso-Tetra(4-pyridylvinylphenyl)porphyrins Coordinated to Ruthenium(II)-Polypyridyl Derivatives
The free-base meso-tetra(4-pyridylvinylphenyl)porphyrin (1a) and its zinc(II) complex were synthesized and then functionalized with [Ru(bpy)2Cl]+ units (2a and 2b) via conventional methods and evaluated in terms of photophysical, electrochemical and biological aspects. All porphyrins present moderate singlet oxygen production and fluorescence quantum yield,

4. A Calix[4]arene-Functionalized Perylene Imide and Its Luminescence Properties
In this study, new perylene-derived molecules were synthesized as perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid monoanhydride monopotassium carboxylate 1; N-(3-propanol)perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic-3,4-(monoimide)anhydride-9,10-acid potassium carboxylate 2; 5,11,17,23-tetra(tert-butyl)-25,27-bis(3’-bromopropoxy)-26,28-(dihydroxy)calix[4]arene 3; 5,11,17,23-t

5. Synthesis and Evaluation of the Fungal Activity of New Pyrazole-Carboxamides against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides
The pyrazole core has been recognized by their biological properties and included in the synthesis of modern agrochemicals. Part of these studies consists of making structural modifications to pesticides for commercial purposes to increase efficacy. In this article, we present the synthesis of four new pyrazol-4-carboxamide 8a-8d derivatives (PCD), through a

6. Does an urban environment affect leaf structure of Eugenia uniflora L. (Myrtaceae)?
ABSTRACT External factors can interfere with the structure and biological activity of plants. Nevertheless, the susceptibility of plants to specific environmental conditions varies, which raises many questions about the behavior of medicinal plants when grown in urban areas. This study aims to detect possible changes induced by exposure of Eugenia uniflora L

7. Differential replicative fitness of the four dengue virus serotypes circulating in Colombia in human liver Huh7 cells
ABSTRACT Dengue has been a significant public health problem in Colombia since the simultaneous circulation of the four dengue virus serotypes. The replicative fitness of dengue is a biological feature important for virus evolution and contributes to elucidating the behavior of virus populations and viral pathogenesis. However, it has not yet been studied in

9. Biological and Mechanical Heart Valves Under a New Spotlight: Paradigm Shift and New State of the Art
ABSTRACT The need for crop rotation and profitability in lowland areas are the two main reasons for the introduction of soybean cultivation in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. These areas have poor natural drainage, which impedes proper soybean growth. In this sense, this study aimed to assess the efficiency of using broad base ridges in comparison to

10. Asymmetric intraguild predation of Harmonia axyridis (Pallas, 1773) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) on a native Coccinellidae guild
Abstract Harmonia axyridis is an exotic species that can cause serious impacts on native biodiversity in areas where it is introduced to act as a biological control agent. This predator is often involved with intraguild predation, in most cases with aphids predators. Here, we report the results of experiments designed to understand the outcome of the invasio

11. Pathogenicity of Metarhizium anisopliae and Beauveria bassiana fungi to Tetranychus ludeni (Acari: Tetranychidae)
