1. First inventory of benthic mollusks associated with the reef ecosystems of Morro de São Paulo on Tinharé Island in northeastern Brazil

2. Effects of the introduction of an omnivorous fish on the biodiversity and functioning of an upland Amazonian lake

3. Intraspecific food resource partitioning in Brazilian silverside Atherinella brasiliensis (Atheriniformes: Atherinopsidae) in a tropical estuary, Brazil

4. Methods of sampling benthic invertebrates in lotic habitats: a spatial and temporal evaluation

5. Zoogeography of Elasmobranchs in the Colombian Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea
ABSTRACT In order to investigate zoogeographical patterns of the marine elasmobranch species of Colombia, species richness of the Pacific and Caribbean and their subareas (Coastal Pacific, Oceanic Pacific, Coastal Caribbean, Oceanic Caribbean) was analyzed. The areas shared 10 families, 10 genera and 16 species of sharks, and eight families, three genera and

6. Invading the natural marine substrates: a case study with invertebrates in South Brazil
ABSTRACT The number of biological invasions has grown dramatically in recent decades, as well as the world's human population and coastal development. Anthropogenic habitats, such as pier pilings and break waters, have been constantly added to marine environment, usually concentrated in estuarine areas. These habitats are focal points for marine invasions, b

7. Studies on benthic communities of rocky shores on the Brazilian coast and climate change monitoring: status of knowledge and challenges

8. Marine and coastal environmental education in the context of global climate changes - synthesis and subsidies for ReBentos (Coastal Benthic Habitats Monitoring Network)

Chironomidae is one of the most abundant and diverse families in freshwater ecosystems, however its highly complex systematic has led to its scarce development in many limnological studies. The aim of this study was to analyze benthic and drifting Chironomidae assemblages in a mountain stream of central Argentina assessing abundance, diversity and taxa compo

10. Effects of spatial and environmental factors on benthic a macroinvertebrate community
Interactions between terrestrial and aquatic systems influence the structure of river habitats and, consequently, affect their benthic macroinvertebrate composition. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of spatial and environmental variables (local physical and chemical variables of water and regional landscape characteristics) on the benthic ma

11. Organização trófica da comunidade de peixes de poças de maré da Praia dos Castelhanos (ES), Atlântico sudoeste tropical / Trophic organization of the tidepool fish community of Praia dos Castelhanos (ES), southwestern tropical Atlantic
The identification of the trophic groups is fundamental to understanding the factors responsible for organizing and structuring the communities. Accordingly, the present study was conducted in the tidepools of Praia dos Castelhanos, located in the Espírito Santo State, southeastern Brazil, in order to describe the trophic organization of the fish community,

12. Diet and functional feeding groups of Chironomidae (Diptera) in the Middle Paraná River floodplain (Argentina)
The gut contents of nine genera of benthic Chironominae and Tanypodinae from the Middle Paraná River floodplain habitats (a lake and a secondary channel) were analyzed to determine their feeding patterns and functional feeding groups. Amorphous detritus, animal and vegetal tissues, and mineral materials (predominantly sand) were observed in the larval guts.
