26. Bacillus subtilis melhora a tolerância do milho a salinidade
Condições salinas influenciaram negativamente o crescimento do milho. Entretanto, a inoculação com B. subtilis melhorou o crescim

28. Inoculation of Pinus taeda Seedlings with Plant Growth-promoting Rhizobacteria
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Azospirillum brasilense , Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas fluorescens on the growth of Pinus taeda seedlings. Bacterial inoculants were applied in two different forms: at sowing and 20 days after emergence. At 30, 60 and 90 days after emergence, we evaluated plant height and root-colar diameter.

29. Nitric oxide inhibitory and anti-Bacillus activity of phenolic compounds and plant extracts from Mesua species
ABSTRACT Species from the genus Mesua, Calophyllaceae, are rich source for phenolic compounds such as coumarin xanthone, and benzophenone derivatives. An investigation on the potential biologically active phenolic compounds 1–5 and crude extracts from the stem bark of Mesua hexapetala (Hook. f.) P.S. Ashton and Mesua beccariana (Baill.) 30.

33. A novel expression vector for the secretion of abaecin in Bacillus subtilis
ABSTRACT This study aimed to describe a Bacillus subtilis expression system based on genetically modified B. subtilis. Abaecin, an antimicrobial peptide obtained from Apis mellifera, can enhance the effect of pore-forming peptides from other species on the inhibition of bacterial growth. For the exogenous expression, the abaecin gene was fused with a tobacco

34. Effect of Bacillus spp. on Aspergillus westerdijkiae growth, sporulation and ochratoxin A production in green-coffee medium
Abstract Aspergillus westerdijkiae is one of the most important spoilage and toxigenic fungi contaminating coffee beans and may produce ochratoxin A (OTA), a mycotoxin that characterize a health risk to the coffee consumers. Biological control strategies can be used for prevention of fungal invasion and decrease mycotoxin exposure. The aims of this study wer
