RESUMO

The idea of back to study, looking for education seemed as lost, becomes important when it presents not only as the reparation way for those people who have not accessed school on the appropriated age, but also as a need to enter into the contemporary corporative world and society, linked to an upgrade in educational level that stimulates the continuation on studying for searching social and professional promotion. This investigation seemed opposed to a lot of studies already presented, because we have seen at the EJA Educação de Jovens e Adultos, (Education of Young and Adults) as a bless that will supply all social and economic problems of a population those are helpless and insecure of their learning capacity and with frustrating education historical. The objective of this study is to present an empirical research about the educational trajectory of 88 students from either elementary II (5th to 8th grade) and high school belongs to EJA, carried out in a school from the outskirt of the city of São Bernardo do Campo, in the state of São Paulo, showing the connection of failure and success that appears with the return to school can propose, as well as the analysis of ancestors and descendants related to education and professional choice. The research presents itself divided into two parts, the first one constituted by information about students, their parents, sons and brothers and the second one compounded of two parts, where it showed large number of reasons of giving up and returns to school and by described texts (assignments) from the analyzed students, their wishes and aspirations, frustrations and dreams, proposing analyses about education and continuation of studies and the necessity of return to school. The theoretical core of this research was guided by the studies about alphabetization and teaching young and adults on public policies and the popular education movement, as well as laws that orient this education model and its application. As methodologies tools, were applied technical analysis of current laws, questionnaire and assignments from students. The presentation and interpretation of the collected data has showed viability on students educational trajectory.(AU)
