Menaces were mentioned by 32.7% of the participants without distinction between sexes and schools. Relation violence was referred by 22.4% of these adolescents being more frequent among boys and students of private schools. Physical violence was pointed out by 34.7% of the adolescents. Girls appear more as perpetrators and the boys as victims without significant difference between the school networks. Sexual violence among dating adolescents was identified by 53.3% of the participants without distinction between the school networks. Between the sexes, there was no difference as to the victim condition but boys appeared as the most frequent perpetrators. It has been observed the frequent occurrence of superposition of psychological, physical and sexual violence. It has also been found out that adolescents that suffer or practice violence in the affective and sexual relationships are more inclined to present suicide ideas mainly among girls and students of the public schools. One observed the presence of cultural rules of gender that influence and legitimate some forms of violence among adolescents. Only 5% of them said that they had already asked for help due to problems derived from violence in the affective and sexual relationships. Firstly, they look for friends (51.5%) and, secondly, for family members (36.7%). Health professionals were searched for by 12.1% of them. The results were similar to those found in the national study where Porto Alegre stood out regarding the physical violence suffered and to the legitimacy of this kind of aggression, especially among boys. It has been pointed out the need of stressing the implications of the health care system within these events, by considering the responsibility and commitment ascribed to the health professionals regarding the violence prevention and the promotion of the adolescents´ health.
