RESUMO

In this work the concept of violence is analysed as an intrinsical phenomenon of the civilizating process. The violence is a structural element of civilizations, and as such takes part of the proper constitution and society organizations. Under this point of view it constitutes an essencial aspect of the social formation. However it presents shapes and specific manners of social ambit manifestation. The bellow presented text is the result of a research realised in one of the regions of the municipal district of Campinas-SP, whose formation is given basicly by migrant residents, poors people, coming from several states of the country, with a notable parcel of rural migrants. During the last years the criminal violence has been a characteristic of this region. The realised study starts with the initial concern about the problematic of violence in its several daily modulations in a municipal school located in this district, which originated this locality. Considering the characteristics of the researched region analysis are made based in the concepts of poverty, migration, education and criminality. On this perspective, the object of study are the social and criminal violence displays in the educational ambit. So, we analyse the processes of social exclusion, which touch the citizens unprovided of the basic rights, foreseen by a state, postulated “democratic”. The school is configurated as one of the first social rights neglected by this state. The mechanisms of selectivity and exclusion engendered by it are one of the basic factors for the comprehension of the surrounding and internal violence in the school. For this reason, is analysed the existence of a certain type of violence which reaches directly the poor populations of great urban centers of the Brazil, whose social-political structure is very unequal and, consequently. is based on the unequal distribution of the social and political rights of the citizens.
