RESUMO

This dissertation, of empirical and predominantly descriptive natured, aimed to register phonetic aspects in variation in students of two agricultural areas of Catu city-Ba. It also seeked to verify if, and to what extent, traces in spontaneous speaking variation of those individuals reflect themselves in their monitored writing. Moreover, it tried to develop a reflection on the pedagogical implications of the linguistic variation. The used methodology allowed the constitution of a corpus composed of two samples: the first resulted from 10 hours recorded interviews with 14 students of the first and of the fourth elementary school belonged to the first cycle of two municipal schools; second it resulted from the application of a test with the same students in which they would have to write words subjected to the variations that had constituted researched object. The results signaled for the miniature occurrence, in the second sample, of the changeable facts in focused spontaneous students.
