Uso do programa "Cells Analyser" no estudo comparativo entre imagens do endotélio de córnea obtidas por microscopia especular

RESUMO

Purpose: To describe differences among number of cells, evaluated endothelial area and relative error comparing endothelial samples from one endothelial image with endothelial samples obtained from guidance of a specific software, with number of cells and images as many as necessary. Methods: A transversal study was performed, comparing the endothelial samples with and without intervention of the software. The sample consisted of 298 eyes of 149 individuals. The sample was divided in two groups: group 1: data from 141 eyes considerate correct with one image; group 2: in 157 eyes was necessary to get more than one image for the sample be admited as correct; the group 2 was further divided into two subgroups: 2.A: the data of the first image and group 2. B: data of complete sample. Three comparasions were perfomed: comparation 1: Group 1 x Group 2 A; comparation 2: 2AX 2 B and comparation 3: Group A X group 2. B. Results: The statistic comparations of samples data (number of counting cells, evaluate field, and relative error) of the Group 1 X group 2 A, Groups 2 A X 2 B and Group A X group 2 B; showed that groups had different sample. Conclusion: The study of samples data with or without the analysis of the software Cells Analyzer PAT. REC showed statistically significant differences showing clearly the importance of using it in order to obtain representative, standardized and reproducible specular microscopy exam.
