RESUMO

The related work is the documentary result of bibliographical research and on the Brazilian aboriginal movement in the decades of 1970 and 1980. Of particular way the approach of the research if came back toward the initiative of joint organization of diverse aboriginal etnias, initiative this that culminated with the creation of the Union of the Aboriginal nations (I JOINED) in 1980. Understood as fruit of the social mobilizations that had gained the streets of the country during the military regimen, the aboriginal organization was boarded also as resulted of other fights lived deeply in the period. For in such a way, the first chapter deals with the popular organization directed toward the defense of the rights and plea to the military regimen. In the following chapter the emphasis was given to the general conditions that had propitiated the organization of the aboriginal peoples. Finally, the third chapter had as object to analyze the process of creation of the Union of the Aboriginal Nations and its contribution to the aboriginal movement of the period. The unfoldings that had taken the aboriginals to lead the movement of auto representation front the consisting authorities and to organize a proposal with minimum guideline of rights to be defended in the quarrels constitutional of the period
