RESUMO

At the Chamber of Deputies, one of the Houses of the Brazilian Legislative Power, the debates that take place there constitute the proper soul of the legislative process. This context introduces the research proposed here: the approximation of the parliamentary discourse in the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies, mainly under the glance of the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), within the Social Theory of Discourse, received the basic concepts submitted to other pertinent interdisciplinary theories. The theoreticians adopted were, for Critical Discourse Analysis, Fairclough (1989, 1992, 1995a, 1995b, 2000, 2003); for Discoursive Genres, Bakhtin (1986, 2003), Swales (1990) e Bazerman (2005); for Ideology, Fairclough (1992), Bourdieu (1996), Eagleton (1997) and Thompson (2002); for Argumentation, Monteiro (2003), Maneli (2004), Paiva (2004) and Perelman &Olbrechts-Tyteca (2005); and for Textual Linguistics, Koch (2002, 2004). The research follows the qualitative methodology, therefore, in an interpretative character, taking into account the content, the organization and the social function of the text (Fairclough, 1989; Cameron et al., 1992; Pedro, 1997; Chouliaraki &Fairclough, 1999; Bauer &Gaskell, 2004; Flick, 2004). Through the analysis of two parliamentary discourses one taken from Paiva (2004) and the other from the website of Chamber of Deputies (2006) , this research intends to point out the multiple and interpenetrating factors, like the linguistic, discoursive and interactional elements, which embase that discoursive genre, as with as to attempt the essential especulation about the ideological representations inserted there. Finally, as real life shapes language and is, at the same time, shaped by it in just tracing a synthetic perception of the dialetic entailment which indissociates the linguistic system from the social environment , the texturing of the parliamentary discourse submits itself not only to the choices of the orator, but also to the social functions of the language.
