RESUMO
The objective of this work is to study a new interferometric signal processing technique of fiber optic gyroscope based on zero crossing. A digital demodulation method was developed using this technique which allows the detection of a Sagnac phase difference, proportional to the system rotation rate, measuring time intervals difference determined by zero crossing points. Under theoretical and practical points of view, the proposed technique provides advantages in relation to those using synchronous clock on an integration period and asynchronous clock in several integration periods, making possible a considerable development in resolution and minimization of noise in the measuring system
