RESUMO

In order to provide access services through wireless networks with comparable performance to wired networks is essential for the future of the wireless networks, mainly in that it refers to the accesses to the Internet. The standrd protocol of transport used by most of the applications of the Internet is the TCP/IP (Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol). This protocol, originally conceived to work in wired network where the main cause for loss of packages is the cogestion of the network, has is acting severely affected when used in channels of radio where the probability of the mistake rate is larger compared the wired network. In this work, a tool, a is proposed for simulation of acting of the protocol TCP?IP in network wireless. The tool for simulation divides in three layers: model of the channel of radio to be used in the transmission (physical layer) layer of connection of data being used whole its functionalities of control of mistakes and the transport layer, providing reliable control of delivery of packages, flow control and congestion. A case study is accomplished, being used, in the process of simulation of the system, the parameters of CDMA IS-95. The tool for simulation facilitates to evaluate the acting interaction among the layers, with the objective of verifying the behavior of the channel of radio in order to optimize the general performance of the system.
