RESUMO

The primary purpose of this thesis is to analyze the psychoanalytic clinics, which exist in general hospitals. It is the author`s hypothesis that the close interpenetration between the public and the private spheres is reflected in such practice and determinant as far as the difficulties and obstacles are concerned. The relationships between the public and the private spheres from the Greek antiquity, to the present time are analyzed pointing out the correspondence between the increase of privacy and the birth of the psychoanalytical private clinic. To classify the organizing elements of such clinic five psychoanalysts were interviewed. The analysis of the interviews allowed to highlight, as main characteristics of the field, the high visibility, transitiveness and the complex transference field, which emerges from subjective and environmental elements. Winnicott`s theoretical framework was suggested as a possible alternative for a creative and effective clinic in such environments.
