RESUMO

The present work is a numerical study on the applicaion of analogies between heat and momentum difusion as a methodology to impose heat flux boundary conditions in turbulent boundary layer flows. In order to validate the proposed methodology the following cases were tested: a) a study of turbulent flows over slightly heated flat plates and with unheated starting lenghts, based on the works of Reynolds et. al (1958) and Taylor et. al (1990); b) a study of a turbulent flow over a strongly heated flat plate, based in the work of Ng. (1981); c) an analysis of a turbulent flow generated by natural convection due to the presence of a vertical heated flat plate, based in the work of Nagano et. al (1992); d) a study of the turbulent natural convection phenomenon inside a tall cavity, based on the experimental work of Betts and Bhokari (1996); e) a study of turbulent flows over flat plates with and without unheated starting lenghts, considering heat flux boundary conditions; f) a study of a turbulent flow inside a cylindrical duct with heat flux boundary condition on the wall; g) an analysis of a turbulent flow generated by natural convection due to the presence of a heated vertical flat plate with heat flux boundary condition; h) a study of a turbulent flow inside a 2D channel with a rib-roughned wall, based on the works of Drain and Martin (1985) and Liou et. al (1992); i) an analysis of a turbulent flow over a thermal backward facing step, based on the works of Vogel and Eaton (1985); j) a qualitative analysis of a turbulent thermal flow in an assymetric plane diffuser, based on the work of Buice and Eaton (1995); k) a qualitative analysis of a turbulent thermal flow in a smooth hill, based on the work of Loureiro et. al (2007).
