RESUMO
This work puts in doubt the fight for hegemony by using the analysys of the Correio de Uberlândia newspaper in the 1960s. Its objective is to comprehend how the local printing press is consisted of while social practice in Uberlândia pondering over the memory, revealing the singularity of the relations and interests that influenced the way the paper used to be place according to the Militar Regime, and what it meant in the fight for hegemony. It discusses the construction of this mean of communication while being a source of research, once the printing press organizes, articulates and builds interests, analyzing the newspaper as a part of the city to understand how it intervenes in the society. It is also questioned who are the individuals who composes this intervention, once the projects of the several social powers are articulated by the press, according the interests of its owners, maintainers and groups that it represents, affecting directly the memory production.
