RESUMO

The common mental disorders (CMD) are present in the population in general contributing for the risk of more serious mental diseases. They are considered CMD the anxiety upsets, depression and somatic complaints that are associates for partnerdemographic factors, economic among others. The aim was to investigate the prevalence of CMD against pregnant women aged 18 to 49 years, who were registered in the Health Family Program of the Sanitary District II of Recife, from July of 2005 to November 2006, and your association with partner-demographic factors, economic, reproductive antecedents, intention of render pregnant and personal and family antecedents of mental disease. They were interviewed 1.121 women that were met from the thirtieth gestation first week. The general prevalence of CMD during the pregnancy was 43,39%, being larger among women who were not married or living with a man (OR=1,53), with practice greater than religious twice a week (OR=1,86), with low education (OR=2,35), unemployeds (OR=2,07), with ownership of less than three durable goods (OR=1,37) with more than three sons (OR=2,69) and of three gestations (OR=2,72), with history of spontaneous abortion (OR=1,96), which tried to accomplish abortion when discovering the current gestation (OR=3,99), which owned personal antecedents of mental disease in previous gestation (OR=6,56) and family antecedents of mental disease (OR=1,99). In the multivariate analysis, the variable religious practice, productive insert, abortion history, reaction of the woman and of the father of the child to the current and personal antecedent and family pregnancy of mental disease, they kept statistically significant. That study was important to for being pioneering in the region in which was developed, allowing a better comprehension of the factors involved in CMD occurrence during the gestation
