RESUMO

The objective of this work is to identify the psychological consequences and the development of symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in bank workers, victims of assault or kidnapping, in the exercise of its professional activity. Initiated with a historical description of this pathology, investigated indices of its prevalence, and the relation with individual predisponent factors. Of the theoretical point of view, a mapping of the conception of the Traumatic Neurosis in the Sigmund Freuds work is constructed and is argued his attempts of joint with the others psiconeuroses, in function of its etiology. A equalization between the traumatic neuroses and the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder becomes, that is argued to the light of the Psychoanalysis. Based on the economic understanding of Sigmund Freuds theory and psychic concept of trauma, as an event of such intensity that it becomes the psychic device incapable discharge or elaboration it excess of consequent energy the traumatic situation. Added the economic understanding of the trauma, the dynamics of the symptoms of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Since interviews with banking workers victims of assault or kidnapping, were verified the development of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, bringing for these workers many limitations, especially in the fields partner-affective and the proper professional activity. The epidemic character of the Post Traumatic Stress disorder in the Brazilian reality is argued, where the high indices of violence charge of the society and the professionals of health a reply in the direction to minimize the psicossociais sequels of the victims of crimes.
