RESUMO

The cccurrence of direct component of current and voltage in AC electrical systems is increasing significantly. For the Brazilian electrical network this is associated to the use of modern conversion and transformation techniques, as well as the High Voltage Direct Current schemes. In this way, the study and the performance of euipaments which are designed to operate essentially with AC signals, but are in fact submitted to both AC and Dc excitations become a matter of great concern. This thesis starts from general considerations about possible DC sources in AC electrical systems and it goes towards the study of steady state and transient studies of power transformers under simultaneous double AC/DC excitation. Physical considerations concerning the above behavior of transformers are then taken into account and steady state and transient mathematical models are derived. These formulations allow for the evaluation of changes in magnetizing current waveform, peak value, harmonic content, etc. The use of a better representation for the non-linear magnetic characteristic, the inclusion of paramenter which are usulally ignored and others are the main contributions of this work ...
